Club Fair, Gym, Friday Afternoon

Jackson got to the gym early. He took his mission of establishing a sports team in Fandom pretty seriously, see. That involved making something of an effort, and showing up early to check out the competition (yes, he viewed the other clubs as competition, deal with it) was the least he could do.

He grabbed a copy of the club schedule for himself before he went to set up his table.

"Oh, Pants Chick." Olive, your habit of naming people after their defining characteristics is going to get you in trouble. "And oh my god, why? I mean, I'm not opposed, but what did the bunnies do to you?"

"There were just so many of them," Kenzi tried to explain. It had been one of those ideas that too much sugar and time with Bart made seem like a good idea. "One of the other teachers had filled up Mr. Caffrey's office with 'em, and I was TA in charge of getting rid of stuff, so... I put half in Quinn's room and half on the roof." She grinned. "And does Bo know she's Pants Chick? Heh."

"I haven't ever talked to her, I've just seen her pants," Olive noted. "They're notable. And...poor bunnies."

"They were happy to be immortalized! At least more than the rubber chickens."

They had been hanged from the trees and places on lamp posts on the Causeway.

"And they kinda are, aren't they? As well as her boots." Kenzi looked down at her own then. No reason. Seriously.

"I'd die in boots like those. Or yours," Olive replied.

It was true. She'd spent a lot of time falling down last semester.

"You get used to them when you're this wee and your other alternative is talking to people's chests all the time." Kenzi gave hers (http://shop.ironfistclothing.com/if_footwearaccessories/wedgesbooties/iflbot00243s12-new_rider_taller_platform_boo) a look of satisfaction. "'Sides, have you ever tried?"

"I have," Olive said mildly. "I spent a semester in stilettos. It's the clunkiness of the boots that'd get me, I think. I'd twist an ankle. It was nice being really tall, though. I could look most of the boys at my school in the eye, if I wasn't towering right over 'em."

"Yeah? The clunkiness gives me a nice intimidation factor I think." Kenzi tilted her head. "I bet that worked really well for you, though. Guys love that kinda thing."

"No kidding," Olive said dryly. "But being all teensy has its advantages, too. You're like, pocket-sized."

"Except not literally like Ari." Kenzi looked smug. "It does lead to being underestimated, though. There has to be some advantage to not having bazongas worth writing home about."

"I seem to be making up for my lack of natural endowment with a stunning sense of irony and sarcasm," Olive noted with a small smile. "It's only fair."

"And really great hair," Kenzi told her.

"Aww, you think so?" Olive asked, genuinely sort of flattered.

"Seriously! Take it from someone who had a wig that color, it really works for you."

"It's natural," Olive said, a little proudly. She cast a glance at Kenzi's hair. "Are you wigging it up at the moment?"

"Nah, this is my default dye job." It'd been so many years since Kenzi had seen her natural hair color or texture, she wasn't even sure what it would be any more. "Vampira Black #2." She pulled out a strand to check. "With 'Bright as F#@$ Yellow' streaks today, right. I ran out of Atomic Pink."

"It works for you," Olive offered. "I'd look like someone fished up out of the bottom of a lake if I tried to go that dark."

"Heh. Thanks." Kenzi looked placidly pleased. "So food, and manicures, and really trashy TV. This is a fantastic plan."
