Club Fair, Gym, Friday Afternoon

Jackson got to the gym early. He took his mission of establishing a sports team in Fandom pretty seriously, see. That involved making something of an effort, and showing up early to check out the competition (yes, he viewed the other clubs as competition, deal with it) was the least he could do.

He grabbed a copy of the club schedule for himself before he went to set up his table.

"We do!" Jeremy informed him with cheer unbefitting the leader of a club about being apathetic. That was okay, he made up for it by his mad skills at zoning out. "It has a long tradition and everything."

Sparkle didn't look entirely convinced. Call it something to do with the cheerfulness of Jeremy's reply. But he was willing to give this a shot anyhow.

"Okay, long tradition and all... but what do you guys do/i> at club meetings? Sign says zoning out?"

Sparkle had never been much of a zoning-out kind of apathetic sociopath.

Jeremy shrugged. "We don't really do anything." Duh. "When George was running this thing, I think the emphasis was on, like, being sullen and antisocial? But I'm more of a zoning out and being zen kind of guy myself, and George was always cool with that, so I'm cool with whatever too, dude."

You didn't even have to date him for him to be cool with doing your own thing!

"Not giving a crap is kind of the whole point."

Which meant that he did care of course. Deep down, somewhere past all the layers where all he apparently cared about was being an utter annoying shit to the people around him.

It was an important job, okay?

"I don't do antisocial well, though."

"That's cool, neither do I." Expect in that 'whoops zoned out for a straight hour there' kind of way. "New year, new club leader, I figure we can do whatever the people in the club wanna do."

Had Sparkle noticed Jeremy was kind of insanely easygoing yet?

"Cool," Sparkle decided, considering for a moment, and then shrugging. "I'm in. Where do I sign up?"

Jeremy looked puzzled for a second or two. Then it was like a lightbulb was turned on above his head, and he rummaged around his bag for a note pad which was clearly the same one he'd used to make the sign, and he pushed it over towards Sparkle, along with a pen.

"Right here, dude."

"Sweet," he decided, taking the pen and writing his name down. And then doodling a not-quite-frowny face beside it, two dots and a straight line to illustrate a not entirely impressed face.
