Thomasina slides into a seat near the middle of the room. She's early, as usual, and nobody else has arrived. She hopes she has the right classroom - the way the building twists and turns and sometimes seems to fold in on itself still confuses her. For the moment, however, she intends to assume she has the correct location and sip her cup of morning tea while she waits to find out if she's correct.

Rory wanders in, and takes her usual seat. She's so glad they're looking at slides today - she's always especially enjoyed the visuals of classes like this.

*strolls in, two cups of coffee in hand*

*plunks one down on Dr. Jackson's desk* Hey. Coffee. Someone oughtta bring it to you.

*sits and sits coffee thoughtfully, and after awhile she thinks of a question* "Dr. Jackson, will we be covering the Hellenistic period? Or just the classical period?"

I have become interested in pottery from the 1000 to 700 BCE per this site: http://www.mysteriousetruscans.com/art/pottery.html , and while I realize it is Etruscan and not strictly Greek or Roman, all things that come after are based on what is before and the Etruscans were there first. What interests me is the reduction firing done on the Bucchero Ware, which is very similar to Raku firing done in some Japanese pottery traditions. (ooc: actually this does interest me, but for the sake of not spamming y'all with my meanderings on the topic I will shut the frell up now)

*pretend essay here*

(ooc: indeed. I just discovered this while looking around for stuff for this "class", and as I have does some stuff with Raku, it really struck a chord for me. Now I may have to do some serious reading. *total history geek*)

Phoebe does her homework silently, sitting in a desk at the back of the class.
