Drama! Thursday, Period Four

It was probably not surprising that the drama class was meeting in, well. The drama classroom. Unlike a normal classroom, there were no desks, although there were plenty of chairs stacked along the side of the room. Half the room was carpeted, and the other half consisted of hardwood flooring with the walls and floor painted black. Large black cubes were scattered amongst the 'stage' area, and there was a rack of costumes off to one side.

"Greetings, all!" came the exuberant greeting as Thor came in to the classroom, gesturing for everyone to sit down in a circle. "I recognize many of you, but there are several new faces as well! I am Thor Odinson, and I shall be teaching you about the dramatic arts this semester!" Yeah, he was about as surprised as you were. Shh.

"Now, it is my hope that by the end of the semester, we can put together a show to entertain your fellow classmates- however, we can speak of that next week. This week I have set aside for everyone getting to know each other, and so we shall perform an activity entitled 'two truths and a lie'. I wish you to give your name, year of schooling, and then three things about yourself- one of which is actually untrue. Then, your classmates shall attempt to guess which is the untruth." He pointed at random to someone in the circle. "We shall begin with you."

When that was done, he gestured to Loki if he was there. "Loki, if you are so obliged, I shall require your assistance once again this semester."

Alec was so not a drama person. Really, really not, and he had no idea why he'd been put in this class considering that, yeah, quite a lot of no.

And sure, the professor was kind of interesting to him because he was kind of extremely hot and also someone that Clint had said to look out for, but still. He wasn't exactly psyched to be here or anything.

"I'm Alec Lightwood and I'm a junior," he said, while one hundred percent not doing that 'speaking up' thing that was so important in a drama class. "I'm from New York, my brother's in this class, and... I can fly."

Alec, those were the most boring two truths and a lie ever.

"Olive Penderghast, senior." That was the easy part. She had to pick a fairly innocuous lie, here. "I'm here because I won a contest, I once sang in front of my whole school, and...I have no powers."

That'd work. Even if she wished she'd actually won a contest.

Karolina gave everyone a little wave and a smile. She was actually happy enough to be here, though her days of wanting to become an actor were starting to be pretty permanently behind her.

"Hi, I'm Karolina Dean, and I'm a junior," she said. "And... I love eating steak, I'm from LA..." She paused for a bit. "And I can fly."

No, she wasn't just copying Alec, there.

Rilla didn't really consider herself that dramatic a person heh, so she wasn't entirely sure how she'd ended up in this class.

"I'm Rilla Blythe, I'm a junior now, and, erm, I'm from 1915, I'm an only child, and I adore sweets."

She was really bad at lying.

"Hi, I'm Juliet Darling, I'm a senior," Juliet said, trying not to bounce as she spoke. Not only was she finally taking an acting class, but the teacher was super-hot.

"I have three brothers and one sister, my favorite actress is Julia Roberts, and I've lived in Manhattan my whole life not counting school."

Darcy knew exactly how she ended up in this class and was kind of bouncy.

"I'm Darcy Lewis, I'm a senior, and let's see. I nearly got stepped on by a giant robot, weird things don't happen to me at Fandom, and I'm from New Mexico."

Oh, man. Coming up with a lie? Easy. Easy. This was what Sparkle did, after all.

"So, I'm Sparkle," he shared with the class, "and that part isn't my lie. I'm a sophomore. And... Hm." He thought on it for a moment, and then grinned. "So, I love the hell out of Broadway musicals, I think there's never been a celeb hotter than Humphrey Bogart, and I once pissed on a national monument."

Keeping it simple stupid, today. Why not?

"I'm George and I'm now a sophomore," he shared. "I'm from Georgia, I have never traveled by dragon, and my brother is a changeling."

None of those were obvious lies, he thought.

With no easy furniture to perch on, Arietty just tried to stand as tall as she could and waved her arms a little before speaking into her candy-box bullhorn.

"I'm Arietty Clock, and I'm a freshman," she said. "I used to live under the floorboards in a house in England, I've gone sky diving, and I'm this tall because of an accident with a shrink-ray."

Thanks Professor Tomoe for that one. She wasn't sure what a shrink ray was, but apparently, it sounded plausible.

"I'm Karla and a senior." She, like many of the other students present, was appreciating the teacher, oh yes. "I've been a student at Fandom since the summer before my freshman year, I love getting up early in the morning to start my day, and I've never ridden a bike."

Yeah. Guess which one of those was the lie. The ugly, ugly lie.
