"If it wouldn't change anything..." Evan frowned a little, and then shook his head. "I can see how it would be satisfying to do something to ruin his day, especially knowing what he's going to go on to do, but I don't know if I'd want to compromise my own integrity just to spite somebody. If it would make a difference..."

He shrugged a little, frowning down toward the floor.

"I guess if I did take the money, I'd donate it to families of the people he's hurt or something. That might kind of make it worth it. But I can't just steal something if it doesn't do any real good in the end."

What about punching him in the face and then taking the wallet?

"Doesn't cost me anything to lift the wallet, right? So why not. I mean, sure, it's not really going to change anything but not doing anything won't achieve anything either. I'd rather do something even if it's kind of pointless."
