Heroes and Villains 101, Tuesday, Period 3

The Danger Shop wasn't done up as anything particularly striking, this week. Not really. There were tables with paper questionnaire forms and pens at each seat, and a large mystery table hidden behind the teachers.

At the front of the room, Kotetsu was standing there with his arms crossed, looking a bit on the baffled side. Prof Tomoe stood nearby, unusually quiet.

"I guess last week, some of you had a bit of a rough time," Kotetsu began, still a bit fuzzy on the details of the whole mess of it. All he'd known was that he'd woken up on Sunday, unawares of the time he'd missed, and yesterday's radio broadcast had been a bit stranger than usual. Oh, and his daughter was angry at him for not calling her in a week. Again. That part was kind of important. "I wasn't there to see what happened, but I figure a rough week means that you kids have earned a few days of easy classes. So today, we're going to try a slightly more straightforward method of finding whether you kids fall more on the side of good, or on the side of evil."

He gestured to the questionnaires that were sitting on the tables.

"Think of them as basic personality tests," Prof Tomoe said, somewhat less energetically than in previous weeks. "There's nine different categories, and I expect most of you will fall into different ones. Since this past week was ... unexpectedly interesting, instead of throwing you in a death trap full of mutant abominations this week as I had originally planned, we decided to go with something easier for everyone."

He stepped back to reveal a table full of cupcakes. They were arranged on two large sheets on opposite sides of the table. One was full of vanilla cupcakes, with a sign reading "Good". The other was full of chocolate cupcakes, with a sign reading "Evil". A few marble cupcakes were placed on a paper plate in the middle with a poorly handwritten sign reading "Neutral" placed in front. Labelled tubs of full of different colours of icing dotted the table here and there.

"Once you have your quiz results," Prof Tomoe continued, "find the icings that match your ethical alignment and the baked goods that match your moral alignment. You may eat any cupcakes you successfully ice."

He finally grinned a bit. "And if you want to steal a few cupcakes from the other alignment's tray, I certainly won't stop you."

After this past week, Lex was pleasantly surprised to find himself Neutral Good according to the test.

Billy was a little surprised to find that he was neutral good, until he remembered how many rules he regularly broke while trying to help save New York. Yeah, he could live with neutral.

Mercy wasn't entirely surprised to find that she rated as neutral good.

Victor had a hard time with the first set of questions. In the end, he decided to count his mother as the relevant elder and ignore Ultron.

He went through the rest of the quiz easily, unsurprised to find himself declared Lawful Good at the end.

Given Surreal's parental situation, she ended up answering some questions, then crossing them out to pick another. In the end, she went with Titian and Tersa as her mothers, and Sadi (the prick) as her male elder, relegating her sire and his mother to 'estranged relatives.'

She was still a bit confused what 'Chaotic Neutral' meant, but so long as it got her cupcakes, she didn't really care.

Kotetsu, meanwhile, was quite pleased to have his vanilla cupcake, complete with white and green tiger-striped icing.

Neutral good totally meant that his icing could be white and green striped if he wanted it to be.

With sprinkles.

And because I fell asleep at silly o'clock last night and didn't think to include this in the class write-up, feel free to mod your icing colours and to have your kids decorate their cupcakes however you see fit!

There are totally sprinkles.
