Archery for Beginners, Thursday, Period Two

Clint might have had to deal with unexpected radioing today, but he wasn't about to be late to his class. The Danger Shop had been set up like an archery range, as usual, but instead of the usual recurve bows, there was a table of crossbows waiting for the students.

"Good morning," Clint said, giving them all a light smile. "Most of you have been progressing very well, so today we're going to move on from regular bows to something a little more advanced - the crossbow." He picked up one of the crossbows and went over the basics of how to load, aim, and fire. Then, he fired at one of the targets to show the students how easy it was.

Okay, it was easy for him, but it'd be easy for them too with practice!

"There's a bow here for each of you," he continued, "so spend some time getting used to handling it, and then see how well you shoot."

Juliet tried to shoot, none too successfully, until her arms got tired. Then she just played with her gear and admired Clint's arms.

Mercy had used bows and crossbows before, back in Aspen Springs. And, having a little more than average strength, the crossbow wasn't that hard.

Clint might be a little surprised at her proficiency.
