Someone in the office was pounding their desk with stacks of paper. Someone else was stapling. There was a cough. A mouseclick. Ah ah, someone just peeled an orange...

Momoko tapped her new watch to see if it was still working. It seemed to be, despite how it felt. Today was already becoming one of those days where being an office manager totally was not fun, all this waiting when she wanted to be doing something.

Another cough, followed by a sniffle. The printer cycled like it was going to print, then didn't.

And finally, Head of Accounting returned with the morning tea.

"Where did you go, China?"

The Head of Accounting blinked. And then sang*.

"Slow machines and real long lines
The normal girl was out this time
So no one had our order prepared

I left here at the quarter hour
And it’s way off in that dreadful tower

And let’s not talk of all of those stairs!

So I’m sorry
For taking so much time
To bring back tea and biscuits
For free…"

Momoko held up a hand, mortified. "You are totally doing that on purpose, right?"

It was TOTALLY going to be one of those days in the Administration Office.
