Art Games, Monday, P2 [Week 3]
There were different colors and types of paper all over the room when the students arrived for class. Savannah and Angela appeared to be busy continuously folding the papers that they both had in front of them.
“Origami,” Savannah addressed them without looking up from her project. “It’s Japanese for ‘paper folding’ and it’s also what we’ll be doing today.” She looked up and then smiled, lifting what appeared to be a blue rose up for the students to see. “I started learning origami a little while ago and find that it’s soothing and it helps me relax when my mind is working on something difficult.”
Angela spread some pieces of paper with instructions out on the desks. “Some of you have probably done a little of this before, but just in case, you can start with something simple, using your base folds. Anything from paper airplanes a cup for your homemade ‘ball and cup’ kind of game. Maybe telling each other’s fortunes or just making thousands of paper cranes.”
“Whatever you decide, have fun with it,” Savannah said with a smile. “There are literally hundreds of things that you could make.”
