Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Well.

It was raining popsicles and suntan lotion today. Because Fandom liked to make the newbies cry sometimes. Yes, the island had a sense of humor about these things.

We've all learned to accept that and move on with our lives. Well, all of us except for Britta. But she's the worst.

"Absolutely." Darcy informed her and handed her a lollipop. "I'm Darcy, your school appointed big sibling. My first warning - in really, really not kidding when I say things are weird here."

"My roommate thinks he's a character from King of the Bracelets or something," Miriam snorted, taking the lollipop and unwrapping it and popping it in her mouth. "You mean it gets weirder?"

Darcy concisidered this. "He probably is." She finally admitted. "Or something close. So um, what date do you think it is?"

"Unless I took a really long nap on the bus ride over here, it's June 30th," Miriam said. She was starting to wonder if everyone in this place was touched in the head.

"And the year is 2012?" Darcy checked. "My previous little answered that question with 14something I forgot and my old boss once hit a crazy homeless man who turned out to be an alien." She paused. "My not making fun of you warning is still up."

"I'm starting to gather this place is not what you'd call normal," Miriam said. "Still, better than juvie."

Darcy considered this as well. "Did you rob a liquor store?" It made sense in her head. "If I tell you that people sometimes wake up as something or someone else, how badly will you take it?"

"Well, you did ask." Darvy pointed out. "And sometimes people wake up and think they're someone else. A very crazy someone else. And there were eggs everywhere yesterday."
