Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Well.

It was raining popsicles and suntan lotion today. Because Fandom liked to make the newbies cry sometimes. Yes, the island had a sense of humor about these things.

We've all learned to accept that and move on with our lives. Well, all of us except for Britta. But she's the worst.

Thor was here! Thor had a name tag! (that read THOR!!) Thor... was being bombarded by popsicles?

Thor was... being attacked from behind by a small Frost Giant with a tackle hug.

"Brother! You are here!"

Thor was not expecting that at all.

He tensed, one hand already reaching for Mjolnir even as he was being glommed on to. And then stopped, because... brother?

But the only person who called him that was currently being incarcerated in Asgard!

He twisted around in order to get a good look at the tiny person who'd just glommed on to him. He didn't quite look like Loki, and yet he did, at the same time.

"Loki! What are YOU doing here? And why are you so TINY?"

The glomming stopped as details he ought to have been smart enough to pick up on before hugging a stranger started to filter in.

"Why am I tiny?" he asked, moving around to look him in the face. "Why are you younger? I do not think I like this beard."

"It is not I who is younger, but you," Thor insisted. This was deeply confusing.

"I have been this age for at least half a year," Loki countered, reaching up to prod at Thor's jaw. Yes, on his toes.

Damn tall gods.

"It does not suit you. You look like the All-father's weak shadow."

Loki gave him a look that implied Thor was dim, but sweet so Loki would let this one go. Even if he looked like the All-Father far too much.

Deal with it.

"I fear we are not from the same place." There was an almost hesitant pause before he added, "Brother."

To be fair, Thor already knew that much, what with Loki being adopted and all.

"Well, yes, that much is true," Thor said slowly. He still wasn't sure what bit of sorcery was at work here, but by all reports this place was known to be somewhat strange, so he was just going to... 'go with the flow', he believed the term was.

"I am most... pleased to meet you as well, Yakko," Thor said. There may have been some hesitation in his voice there, or that may just be your imagination. "I thank you for your consideration, but my joints are just fine."

Darcy had a lollipop and was cheerfully checking out all the new people. That would be why she was now running over to Thor. "OMG! Hot homeless guy!" It was totally a term of endearment.

Darcy allowed herself to be hugged and returned it with equal enthusiasm if less strength. "Names work too!" She said with a grin. "Tell me Jane knows you're back on the right planet."

"I have informed her of my presence here, yes," Thor told her. "In fact, the course I am teaching was her idea." With some input from Dr. Selvig on the details, of course.

"And she didn't tell me?" Darcy pouted. "Does that mean she fixed the bridge thing? Are you going to visit her in New Mexico? Did you destroy a chunk of New York eently?" She tried to look innocent through all of that.
