Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I
Well.
It was raining popsicles and suntan lotion today. Because Fandom liked to make the newbies cry sometimes. Yes, the island had a sense of humor about these things.
We've all learned to accept that and move on with our lives. Well, all of us except for Britta. But she's the worst.
[Please wait for OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible.]

Re: Meet Your Teachers (Summer 2012)
The air hovering over his head, however, was hard. He had to keep the sunblock and popsicles off of him somehow, so. Shield spell it was!
Re: Meet Your Teachers (Summer 2012)
"Are you the Ronan I've been told to look for?" he asked.
Re: Meet Your Teachers (Summer 2012)
What? Ronan had picked up a few things from Carmela. It was hard not to!
"Because, if so, then yes, presumably I'm the Ronan they told you about. At the very least, I'm your 'teaching buddy', here to help you get settled into the school."
Re: Meet Your Teachers (Summer 2012)
"Excellent. I was hoping there might be some support for issues that may arise. For example--" He gestured at Ronan with his popsicle. "do you have a decent laboratory around here, or will I have to set up my own?"

"That's excellent to hear," he said. "I'll probably make use of it for my class. Also importantly, what sort of residences are available? If I'm staying here all summer, I suppose I'll need something more permanent than a hotel room."
Re: Meet Your Teachers (Summer 2012)
It might have been the way that his face was consistently cloaked in shadow.
"The hotel actually does have some pretty good long-term rates," he explained instead, "but there are a couple of apartment buildings in town, other people probably have rooms for rent in houses, and there are probably houses for sale, too, if you're looking for something that permanent."
Re: Meet Your Teachers (Summer 2012)
on the noseinsulting."I may have to look into that. I'm here to teach for the summer, and we'll have to see how the semester goes. I'm here to teach the good students a course about heroism and villainy, in hopes that they'll make a good decision in choosing the right path in life."
A path that preferably didn't lead to becoming so-called champions of love and justice.
Re: Meet Your Teachers (Summer 2012)
"Probably best just to rent, then," Ronan suggested. "I mean, unless you want to own a place here to rent after you leave, but I don't know that it's really worth it."
... Says the man who bought a house.
Re: Meet Your Teachers (Summer 2012)
"I don't know if I want to go that far. I'm just looking for a good place to spend the next couple months with enough space to engage in scientific activities."
Eeeeevil scientific activities.
