All the desks had been pushed aside today to make room on the floor for the largest piece of paper that Angela had been able to find. Dotted around the edge were a large number of tubs of different colors of poster paint and everything else had as much plastic sheeting as would cover things that should probably not end up covered in paint by the end of this exercise. Like, you know, the desks and the walls and the floor.

“Today you’re contributing to a group project,” Angela announced, and motioned downwards with one finger.

Students might notice that there were no paintbrushes today. Lots of paint, but no brushes. Which would be why when Angela crouched down, she rolled up her sleeve and dipped her entire hand into the pot, and slapped the handful down onto the paper.

"If you haven’t heard of Rorschach tests, they’re those inkblot pictures you always see psychologists using on TV?" Angela was full of technical knowledge, clearly. "It’s used as a way to analyse someone’s personality characteristics. Today we’re going to create our own." Or something. Just go with it. "You can use any colour, use your hands, feet, arms, drop it from a height or smear it around. Try not to specifically make it into a likeness of anything.”

“Point of this is, everyone interprets the shapes differently, depending on personality traits, experiences, age, gender, what you ate for breakfast..." Possibly she made up that last one. "When we’re all done, I want to know what sort of things you all can see in whatever art we make."

"Oh, and it all washes off, you will not end up like that guy who painted himself superhero green, okay?” Honest. “Have fun.”

Get stuck in, you'll probably get messy however much you try to avoid it.

Yeeeeah, Ace would be taking her jacket off and tossing it over a chair for this activity. Pinning gobs of stuff to it was one thing; getting paint all over it -- and the gobs of stuff pinned to it -- was something else.

That accomplished, though, she was having entirely too much fun (for anything that involved the word therapy) dipping her hands in red, yellow, and blue paint, then slapping them explosively against the paper.

Fireworks!

Juliet started out being tentative with the paint, but after a while she gave up at trying to be neat and just went for it. Having your arms coated in paint felt weirdly like a spa treatment.

Considering how bad this week had been, Hanna was actually grateful for this assignment. It was fun to smear paint all over the paper, watch the colors collide and form new shapes, and not be so neat for once. Maybe it was a little therapeutic, too.

Because Angela wants to know.

Of course she is.

After the last student left the classroom, a new face appeared at the door. Savannah looked, well, it had been a hard week. She tapped lightly at the door frame, biting her lip.

Angela was still in the process of removing the paint from her hands. And arms. And would probably later have to set to getting it off the rest of her when she glanced across at the knock.

"Oh, sweetie you actually came!" The temptation to go squeeze her was strong, but covered in paint that might not be the best plan, and held up her hands to illustrate that. "I want to hug you, but I might hold that plan for a minute."

"Come on in."

Savannah gave her a small smile. "Since when would a little bit of paint bother me? And yes, I did. I wanted to see you and I thought that telling you everything in person would be better than on the phone."

"Much better," Angela agreed, wiping just a little more blue from her hands before putting the cloth down. "I was worried. I still am. I'm so sorry, honey."

"I keep going over everything in my head, Ange. Trying to figure out if I did something to make him think..." She shook her head. "I'm sorry I worried you, I just thought it was better that I told you something happened before he called you and made you think I was in danger or missing."

Angela shook her head, "Don't ever think something he does is your fault." Because she was in no way accountable for his actions.

Now the paint was at a minimum and she had free hands, that hug was incoming. "Are you going to stay a little while? And do you want me to go try and kick his ass, because you know, I would try." Savannah had done it for her with Hannibal in the past, so the offer was there.

Savannah hugged her back.

"I plan to stay for a little while, yeah. I stayed this week with Isabel, so I was safe. I thought that coming here for awhile would help." She gave Angela a smile. "But see, that would require you to go find him and that means my BFF would be leaving me to fend for myself."

That last was said with as much cheer as she could manage. She appreciated the sentiment.

"Besides, I think that Isabel and Wyatt have claimed first dibs on him."

"They'd probably be better at that part anyway," she had to admit. Beating people up was hardly a forte. "I'd rather have you." For more reasons than the lack of skill at punching people. "There are movies and plenty of ice cream back in my hotel room, bars in this town that don't card, and with this class done I am all yours."

"I'd rather have you, too." Now Savannah did give a better smile. "All of that sounds perfect and probably what the doctor ordered."

Or you know, the witches in her family.

"So what are you teaching this term?"

Angelica had ink all over herself but was of course willing to help.
