Heroics, Fame, and You, Wednesday, Period 4
When the class started today, Electroclash was slouching behind her desk as usual. What was less usual, though, was that there was someone else at the front of the room with her: a thirty-something man in a predominantly red and black costume, gloves and mask and all. He was smiling at the students as they came in. Electroclash was rolling her eyes.
"Okay," she drawled, once they'd settled down. "As you can see, we have a guest with us today. The topic of the day is heroing in America. And since I'm only familiar with the British way, the SPA thought you'd benefit ––" There was a dubious tone there, yes. "–– from someone with more local experience. So they made me contact the United Capes of America, which I'm expecting none of you to be familiar by now, who in turn refused to give me anyone actually American, so here we are. This is the Hotness. From England. Telling you about how to be a hero in the States, because he was in the UCA for about two seconds."
She rolled her eyes again and waved at their guest to begin.
Which he did, starting with a wide grin at the students. "Yes, it's really me, the Hotness!" he enthused. As if that was supposed to mean anything to any of them. "Don't worry, I brought enough pre-autographed publicity shots for everyone."
... Electroclash's eyes were going to roll straight out of her head during this class, she swore to all the possible deities.
"Right," the Hotness continued, undeterred by any lack of recognition that may have occurred. "So, yes. I was indeed a member of the UCA for a while. Took part in some fairly well-publicized rescue missions, almost had an appearance in a major comic book --"
"Torched a few 7-Elevens..."
"Sarah!" the Hotness exclaimed, or almost yelped, glaring back at her. She just smirked, mostly to herself. (And she hadn't missed needling him. Shut up.) He tried shaking that off. "Well, accidents happen. No one was injured... Mostly. Toes don't really count, do they?" MOVING ON. "Anyway, yes, I was an American hero. I am well-versed in the... being an American hero business. The gadgets, the press, the scandals, the groupies, I am a connoisseur of it all. So your esteemed teacher ––" He thought his sarcastic tone there counted as getting back at her. "-- and I thought we could run this session as a Q&A so I can dispense my knowledge and American hero wisdom to you in the most profitable way possible, by telling you about what you want to know. Just put your hand up and ask."
Electroclash's hand shot up. The Hotness gave her a wary look. "Yes, Sar-- Electroclash?"
"Why were you kicked out of the UCA?"
The Hotness just gave a long-suffering sigh. "Don't ask that, kids. Ask good questions! Now, who wants to start?"

Re: Talk to Electroclash [Fame 06/06]
Sarah was having a really hard time deciding how she felt about this. Except that she knew that had been a pretty lame comeback.
Re: Talk to Electroclash [Fame 06/06]
"Because I spend a lot of time fighting." Aliens mostly.
Re: Talk to Electroclash [Fame 06/06]
Or just to incite a reaction from Alex. "I do too!"
"Nah." She shook her head. "You just light shit on fire. There's a difference."
Alex was wavering between cowering and sulking, now. "Well, at least I wasn't sent across the world for community service. London's not that desperate to be rid of me."
Sarah scowled.

"... Suppose not."

Re: Talk to Electroclash [Fame 06/06]
She just looked amused. She so did love Alex being messed with. "Suppose I'll see you later then, Guy?"
Re: Talk to Electroclash [Fame 06/06]
"Sure. I'll invite my exs along." Ex, Guy. Singular. And Tora would probably just sigh with relief that Guy hadn't turned gay because of her.
Because Alan Scott was the gay Green Lantern. IT MADE NO SENSE TO ANYONE WHY THEY MADE THE ONE GREEN LANTERN WHOSE WEAKNESS WAS WOOD, THE GAY ONE.
Re: Talk to Electroclash [Fame 06/06]
Not that she was being particularly mature right now, either. Starting with the snort and the eyeroll and ending with leaning in for a quick kiss even though Alex was right there.
Well, she'd already lost the game of keeping her friends from gossiping about her.

"Don't burn the school down," he said, pointing at Alex before
struttingwalkingstrutting away.
