Speech Comm

She barely moves, and when she does she looks sore. Don't ask her to pick up her arms...there won't be any hugs today. But that dumb grin isn't going anyplace soon.

201--2nd period: Speeches
Argue pro or con regarding the falling woman. Go.

*** *** *** *** ***

301--3rd period: Trust

Time to play. Each of you has a blindfold waiting on my desk. As you can see, all the tables have been pushed out of the way. Please, blindfold yourself.

I'll guide you around the room, and when you encounter another person, try to figure out who they are.

NO TALKING.

Isabel makes a speech about how the original version is rather degrading to women. Why must she appear almost naked? What is the purpose of the website? To see how badly this poor nameless, blameless soul should be tortured? She ends by stating that the site is much more effective when the body resembles someone who deserves it.

Considering that it wasn't long ago that she had tried to take a header off a balcony, Phoebe's speech regarding the Falling woman is very much con.

Bel gives a pro speech to be different, focusing on the artistic achievement of the movement of the limp body as it falls and hits the bubbles. He doesn't admit he had fun playing with the site, though.

Barbossa stood up. "This be one o' the most pointless bits o' entertainment I've ever chanced t' see," he began, "'n I've spent more than a few nights in Tortuga. Thar be no reason fer it--the wench be lookin' not t' have any manner o' choice as t' what her fate is as she be plungin' off of bubbles 'n the like, and while I be not one t' turn down lookin' at nekkidness, here it be seemin' not t' have a point."

He made a face. "I be sayin' no t' the nekkid fallin' wench."

Alanna makes a speech against the falling woman. However, she seems a bit confused as to what exactly she is doing and every once in a while she stops reading from her sheet and looks out a window. At those moments, a black paw comes out of her bag, smacks her, and goes back in.

Maia looked at the blindfold with apprehension and then back at C.J. She swallowed hard and took the blindfold, though she didn't tie it on just yet she just held it.

When he came in, Boone looked surprised at the sight of the blindfolds, then shrugged. "Want me to tie that for you?" He offered, turning to Maia. Then he noticed her slightly dazed look. "What's wrong?"

She smiled nervously "I-I don't do well in the dark." She said in a quiet voice. "I'm...well I'm afraid of it to be honest with you."

"You're afraid of the dark?" His voice wasn't accusing or anything; just curious.

Maia blushed slightly and nodded "Yeah I am." She said finally. The blindfold still dangled in her hand as she looked down at it frowning.

"Maybe you should try to face it?" He suggested. almost coaxingly.

Maia frowned again "I have before, always ends the same." She took a deep breath. "Will you tie it on me?" She said holding it out to him. Her face was very pale and her hands were clamy.

Shep took a blindfold and tied it on fatalistically. He was used to working in the dark, so this wasn't a big deal, but he just knew that with the luck he had, no matter how hard he tried, his hands would end up somewhere they didn't belong. He just hoped it wasn't a.) in someone's mouth or b.) on someone who could snap him in half before he could apologize.

"Any tighter and you'll cut off the circulation to my brain. I realize not many would be able to tell the difference, but I'd just as soon not."

Shep tries not to resist as he's turned in circles, but he's sure he's going to hit a desk or a prof or something the way he's swaying.
