Kenzi was hanging out and playing Angry Birds while waiting for Anna. Also looking up drink recipes for Caritas tonight. Also listening to Pandora.

Computers. You didn't need to be a genius to have fun with them.

"Okay. And hey, you never know." She grinned, and held up the mouse, then pointed to the cursor arrow on-screen. "This is the mouse. It's like a little grabby-hand to make stuff work or change on the screen. You move it around, so..." Demonstrating, Kenzi ran through how the mouse worked, and then showed the track-pad to her. "Plus some of the buttons on this keyboard are set up to do things automatically, like print, or copy blocks of text and paste it somewhere else. Here, you try with the mouse, click around a bit."

"Okay," Anna said, tentatively taking the mouse and clicking more or less at random. "Ah! What did I do?" You opened Firefox, Anna. Well done! "How did that happen? I just put it on the little cartoon fox?"

"Yup! That's an icon. It's an, umm. Shortcut-picture. For, as it happens, the program that lets you play on the internets." She grinned at Anna. "This is our viewscreen and surfboard to the world wide webs. I've got a couple places bookmarked-- yeah, go to that little tab up there that says 'bookmarks'. Click on the first one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8JfvJJ9EoE&feature=fvst)."

Anna clicked it, and then, after a few seconds, burst out laughing. "What on--what are they on?" And why didn't they have the good sense to get off? Oh wait. Kittens.

Kenzi snickered. "A roomba. Little robot-vacuum cleaner. It just wanders around the room sucking up dirt until it turns itself off. Cats love those. See all the photos down the side? That's more videos that people uploaded of their cats stalking roombas, or riding it, or whatever." She grinned. "Welcome to YouTube. Where people with way too much time on their hands share videos."
