Everyday Skills, Friday 2nd Period

Today the Danger Shop was divided into two sections, a dressing room, with racks of clothing and an office set-up. "Job interviews," Oz began. "This is especially important for those of you who have graduation looming, thought maybe less so if your home universe is different in how you get work, but still some of this stuff will come in handy for you kids, trust me."

"The goal of most job interviews isn't to convince them you know how to do the job," he continued. "Hopefully you will have done a good enough job on your resume and cover letters, and writing those is a different skill entirely, that they will already believe this, hence the interview. No, the point of a job interview is to sell yourself as a potential member of the company in question, prove you'll fit in with the office environment, and that your aforementioned C.V.s aren't full of lies."

"So we're going to do mock interviews today, you're going to pick an appropriate outfit, familiarise yourselves with some of the provided advice, then spilt into pairs and take turns roleplaying as interviewer and interviewee."

[go ahead!]

Rebecca easily managed to select an outfit (http://blu.stb.s-msn.com/i/C2/AA480D980E5179925E77A96143E5.jpg) that could have come from her own wardrobe, except that it probably wasn't as expensive.

Juliet selected a deep brown suit (http://www.bluefly.com/Tahari-ASL-brown-wool-blend-belted-skirt-suit/cat1150080/314707001/detail.fly) with a belt and a full skirt. It was surprisingly hard to find something chic but still professional, but she was happy with what she managed.

Though she still thought the exercise was a little silly. She was a Darling and she was going to be an actor; she'd never be on this kind of job interview.

Rilla had no intention of actually having a job in her life, but wearing a smart skirt was never a bad idea!

Hanna chose something (http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l165/Landslide418/Miscellaneous/Fandom%20High/Random/hannasuit.jpg) that could have been in her closet. It was professional looking and fashionable at the same time.

Hanna's presence was a huge relief. Rapunzel smiled at her roommate and bounced over. "Oh, good! You can totally help me pick out something good! Like what you have!" Rapunzel, after all, knew her limits. And also knew that Hanna was really good at fashion-y stuff!

Hanna was flattered that her roommate came to her for fashion advice. "I think I might have a few ideas."

Yay! Rapunzel clapped her hands excitedly. "Like what, like what?"

"Maybe something in a light lavender," Hanna said, reaching for a suit jacket.

"Lavender?" Rapunzel repeated thoughtfully, watching over Hanna's shoulder. "Ooooh, that's so pretty!"
