Everyday Skills, Friday 2nd Period

Oz had exactly half the number of limbs this class as he'd had last class. Additionally, the fish tank and Speak & Spell were nowhere in sight. thee were however several tables with boxes on them. As they entered the room, Oz directed each of them to a table.

"Money management," he began. "It's a skill that I'm a big believer in. Not just for my own sake, or to keep myself in the lifestyle I'm accustomed to, but also for the benefit of my employees. So you can get an idea of just how complicated this can get, we're going to play a little game, which I'm hoping at least some of you are familiar with. For those of you who aren't here's a quick explanation of the rules."

After Oz had finished explaining that he continued. "If you want to include house rules you can, but everyone in your group has to agree to them."

"And remember, above all, have fun."

[Away we go]

Somehow, in the few moments between the lecture and breaking into groups, Hank had found himself an accountant's visor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_eyeshade). "I'm banker," he announced. "We're playing straight rules, no Free Parking, and dammit, YES, we are having auctions! Any questions?"

"Oh, oh!" Rapunzel's eyes were huge. "It's so cute!"

Someone was totally picking up the little doggie.

"The shoe is mine," Hanna declared, reaching for it.

Rapunzel giggled. "It's very you," she declared.

Oh good god, this group. This group.

After surveying her group and ascertaining that this would be a take-no-bullshit sort of game, Rebecca primly took a seat at the table. "I'll take the top hat," she claimed immediately.

Just so everyone was clear. No bullshit.

"Fine, but I get the shoe," Stephanie declared, eyeing the Monopoly money. Look, what you started out with at the beginning of the game was more money than she'd ever had at once in her life. It was intimidating.

First things first.

"Anyone else for the boot?"

He was already reaching for it, so 'anyone else' better be fast.

"You can have it," Juliet said, "I claim the car."

She wasn't a huge Monopoly fan. It totally ignored the possibility of buying land with credit. But if she was playing, she'd be the car.

"I'll take the, uh," Richie looked over the remaining pieces. "Top hat." He'd look dashing in a top hat. Really.
