Advanced Journalism (Tuesday, February 7 - 2nd period)

Rita sat behind her desk with very red eyes, nursing a cup of coffee.

She might have looked a tad triumphant, though.

"Good morning. Today, we talk about obituaries, which will be due tomorrow at the latest. Write forty words on someone who you know well. A good friend, perhaps, and someone you haven't written on before. And, naturally, it should be written as though they are no longer with us."

She sniffled. "Questions?"

"Fine," Rita said, flicking her wand and not looking up.

There was suddenly a not-so-wee-or-elephantine John on her desk.

John's laying on Professor Skeeter's desk in the tuxedo. The monocle in on his chest.

"Turned me into another animal, huh?"

He climbs off the desk and stretches.

Chloe shook her head at John. "How about a, 'Gee Rory and Chloe, thanks for convincing the teacher to make me human. I look so much better without a trunk.'"

John's still looking a little worse for wear.

"Did I throw up on either of your or just Professor Skeeter? And you know I love you guys in that platonic way. Thanks for the tummy rubs."

"Just her," Rory said, going up on her tiptoes and putting the tiny hat on his head. "Also, I sent Aeryn a picture of you."

"You did?" John nods carefully to keep the hat on his head. "You're a good friend, Rory. Thanks for the hat. Guess she didn't like the British shtick."

Rory snapped another picture, and sent it to Aeryn with the message: "SHE CHANGED HIM BACK. NICE HAT, HUH? LIKE A FLDR. HLMT."

"Evidently."

Rory looked very innocent.

"Why?"

He shrugs. "Dunno. Was just wondering. Gonna make me your cellphone's wallpaper?"

"That's an idea," Rory said, quickly flipping her phone shut so no one could actually see what her cellphone's wallpaper actually was.

"Hm." John streches again. "Thanks for the peanut butter cups. It was kinda fun to throw up on her shoes."

"John," Rory hissed. "Don't be mean. You'll make her cry again."

"Oh, okay." John nods. "You're right." But, before he leaves, he turns to Skeeter again.

"Just remember, I have radio again before you do!"

"And I can give you detention or make you a worm," Rita smiled. "Bye bye now."
