Office hours

4th period on, she's in and out of her office. She's hoping to see a couple students in particular (Jack and Phoebe), but without appointments she's just doing a little online shopping and takes off to the lounge...Adam's...Ten's...Geoff's...Gil's...Josh's...Susan's office run errands, leaving a post-it on the door if she's gone.

Phoebe stops by CJ's office and knocks on the door.

"Phoebe! Come in! I have a surprise for you."

Phoebe smiles at CJ and comes in, again with her head down slightly so her hair hides the left side of her face.

"Hi CJ! You feeling better?"

"Much, yes. Thanks. So, surprise. You remember what we'd talked about? Did you find anyone to teach you, because Ten's kind of been teaching me, but it would be nice to have another beginner to practice with."

Phoebe is so excited that she tosses her head, and her hjair slides back, revealing the bruise.

"Really? CJ, that'd be great. I haven't found anyone yet."

"PHOEBE! What the hell happened?" She's up like a shot and next to her, brushing her hair back.

Phoebe sighs. "I was dumb. I was working out and I tried to do something that I haven't done in awhile," she admits. "It led to my face connecting with a wall."

Her voice is falt and hard as she traces the edges of the bruise. "Tell me honestly that if I push it's not going to turn into a 'he didn't mean to, he just gets like that' thing. I swear, Pheobe, I will not put up with that kind of thing happening to you."

Phoebe shakes her head and smiles. "I swear, CJ. See, what happened, honestly, is that after Cole threatened to kill me Saturday night and then... after what happened in the lounge yesterday, I was so tightly wound up that I had to do something or I was going to start screaming. I decided to work out with some of my old routines from when I was a cheerleader. One of the routines I used to do was a series of running backflips. Yesterday, after not having done it for about two months, I tried to just jump back in. The first time, I landed on my shoulder. The third time? My head and face hit the wall." She looks at CJ. "I promise CJ, that is how I got hurt."

She watches her eyes, the way she smiles, the ease in her shoulders as she explains...then smiles softly. "Then I guess, yay team?"

She nods to a chair and returns to her own. "So what's your schedule like? When can I teach you some standard self defense, and when can we start working on our sword stuff?"

Phoebe smiles. "Tuesdays and Thursdays don't work because I have Geoff's class on Tuesdays and Newspaper on Thursdays. The rest of the week my schedule is pretty flexible. What's more convenient for you?"

"I hold office hours Tuesday and Thursday, but Mondays are wide open. Want me to put you down for private tutoring then?"

Phoebe nods. "Mondays work great for me."

"Mondays it is, then. That gives me time to go digging through the TARDIS to see if i can find you a sword...or ask adam if he has a matching set we can use. Do you want me to keep this quiet?"

Phoebe nods. "Just between you and those you trust for now, okay? I'd hate for the wrong person to find out what I was doing and attack me before I know how to defend myself."
