The Club Fair, Gym, Friday Afternoon

For once, Jeremy actually came into the gym on purpose when the club fair was being set up. There was at least one club he knew he wanted to sign up for, after all.

So, he grabbed himself a copy of the club schedule, and set out to explore his options.

"Yep," Dave said. "They're probably out of date, but I don't think they were written too seriously in the first place, so it's not like you'd be missing out on much. Feel free to flip through one of the back issues."

And now she was supposed to do work just for asking questions!

"Yeah . . . but I don't care that much. I just wanna write funny horrorscopes."

"Oh, in that case, welcome to the newspaper staff," Dave said. "But just to check, are you going to keep calling them 'horrorscopes?'"

Dave didn't mind. He knew enough about Sam to know that the name could actually be accurate. He just wanted to know if he should change the logo.

"What else would I call them?" Sam said, continuing to not make it obvious whether or not she knew they were supposed to be called "horoscopes".

"That's kind of what I expected," Dave said. "Not a problem. I'm sure you'll make them great."

"Darn tootin'," Sam agreed.

She was already thinking of horrors to put in them.

"You should totally offer food next time you do this."

"Actually, that's not a bad idea," Dave said. "It's my first time running a booth, so I wasn't sure what all would draw people in."

"Foods a big draw around here," Sam observed. "I recommend something with meat. Balances out the cupcakes."

"What about a big meatloaf? Or is a distinct kind of meat better?" Dave asked.

Yes, he was taking notes.

Sam considered this carefully.

"You could do one of those meatloaf cake things. You know, with the mashed potato frosting."

This, in Sam's mind, made it the best of both worlds.

"Actually, no, I've never seen that," Dave said. "Does it taste good?"

"It tastes like meat and potatoes."

"Well, you said it was like cake. There could have been something else in there," Dave said. "But I still should have expected that."
