"Mondays ruin me for the rest of the week, I think," Anders says, draining an entire glass of milk and wiping his mouth on his sleeve. "I got nothing today, now that Classics got moved to Tuesdays and Thursdays. Good day to do my homework, anyway. I did more singing on Saturday than I ever want to do again in my life, and I lost twenty bucks on the football game yesterday. Coulda been worse, I guess."

"I sang on the radio," John says, shaking his head. "Stupid songs too. And Lee wants to move into my room. Place is crowded enough. Who'd you sing to?"

"Me and Cally spent the whole morning singing at each other, and considering how that went? I'm lucky I didn't sing at anyone else until she got home on Saturday night." Anders shudders. "I mean, it was kinda nice and stuff in places, but wow, embarrassment. And she says she ended up having sort of a singing argument with Kennedy. I'm kinda sorry I missed it."

He eats half of a taco in one bite and, with his mouth still full, asks, "How the hell you gonna fit more people in that room?

John can only imagine about Anders and Cally singing at each other.

"Well...it's cozy," John finally says. "Two to bed and some floor space. Xander and Rory actually crashed on the floor on Saturday. Again, cozy."

Anders snickers. "Yeah, tell me about it. I can barely stretch out on my floor. Like, if I lie down near the bed I can still reach the fridge." He shakes his head. "Nice that you guys are all comfortable enough with each other to do two to a bed in a double room, huh? 'cause like, wow. I don't think I could do that. But it's cool."

He practically swallows the other half of the taco whole and adds, "So what crazy stuff is in store for us this weekend, you think? First snow monsters, then singing, and don't these things usually happen in threes or something? Or is that just a Colonial superstitious thing?"

"Don't jinx us, man." John just laughs. "And Valentin's Day is coming up. I think that'll be enough to deal with for awhile."

"Frak, I nearly forgot about that!" Anders bangs the heel of his hand into his forehead, and -- "Ow!"

He leans across the table and looks panicked at John. "You gotta help me, man. I know I should be doing something really special for Cally for Valentine's Day, plus it's her birthday on Saturday. But I don't have a clue what sort of stuff I should do."

"Okay," John says and laughs quietly. "You're one better than me. I've still gotta tell Aeryn was Valentine's Day is."

"First of all, Cally's just gonna wanna be with you. So, maybe a dinner? Flowers and chocolate and something small? Something meaningful works best as well. Just show her you love her."

Anders chews on his lip, mixes the rice around on his plate, and looks agitated. "But I do that kind of stuff for her all the time. Shouldn't this be, like, more special? And what day is this exactly, again?"

"February 14 is the exact date," John says. "Well, you might do that stuff for her all the time but perhaps go more special? Rose petals on the bed and candles and stuff like that?"

"You're kidding, right?" Anders starts laughing. "The fourteenth? Oh man, I'm under a lot of pressure now. That's gonna be our four month anniversary, too. I am seriously gonna have to go all out here. Guess I better get all my homework done so I can spend all day Wednesday planning."

He whistles. "Oh, man. Talk about pressure to perform."

"Don't hyperventilate, dude," John says, holding up a hand. "You're no use to Cally if you're laid up in bed. I haven't started planning either. Dude. What if we hold kinda of a guy pow wow on this? Valentine's Day ideas for girlfriends?"

"Dude." Anders slaps his hand palm-down on the table, which makes his too-full second and third glasses of milk slosh onto his tray. "That? Awesome idea. I've been worried about reusing my own ideas, so some fresh ones would help. You, me, Mitchell, Angel . . . who else? We should do that, like, soon."

John grins widely. "Hmmm. Anakin? Logan Echolls? Marty? Lee? Lots of guys on campus with girlfriend, potential girlfriends or single guys looking for girlfriends. We could do a mass email of this type of thing. Commandeer one of the common rooms and keep the girls out."

The possibility that this could lead to mass chaos does not, of course, occur to Anders. "Think Duo and Hamlet would mind if we borrowed the sixth floor common room for that? Least chance of getting accidentally wandered in on, that way."

"Good call," John says. "Sixth floor would keep away potential crashers. Email would keep it on the down low. I think this would be an excellent idea for those floundering for gift ideas."

[*pointsandlaughs*]

"Or other ideas," agrees Anders. "Definitely. When do you want to do this?"

"Hmm. Well, since next week's Valentine's Day, sometime this week? Wednesday?"

Anders thinks about this for a few seconds. "Wednesday's good, yeah. Think that gives everybody else enough time to make arrangements and stuff?"

"I think most guys can manage to make at least an hour or two for a small meeting of the minds," John says. "I can send out an email tonight, in fact. Get the ball rolling."

"Sounds good." Anders smirks. "Kennedy probably doesn't know how to check email anyway, so that leaves him out."

"Awesome." John laughs when Archie's name is mentioned. "Well, I think Jaye can explain Valentine's to him. That'll be a funny sight in it's own right."

"If it's anything like the way she explained it to me? He's gonna run screaming into the woods and never come back." Anders grins broadly, tapping on his lips with one finger. "I should tell her to do that."
