Tactics of War [Monday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.]

Eighth strode into class, wrote the assignment on the board, stationed a few replicators to watch the students, and sat her desk, motionless as she sekritly communed with her agitated brethren who were warring on a far away galaxy.

Please look over your handout from last time, pair up or make groups of three or four – as you wish – and share with your classmates your three favorite war tactics. I will be recording your conversations, no need to turn anything in. If you have any questions, speak to your TA, Callisto. If you need me for any particular reason, however, I will be available after class for questions.

"Do what? Crash after a study session?"

Aeryn glares at her.

"What?" Callisto really had no idea was Aeryn was so upset about, they were only scrapbooking, and they hadn't been that loud.

"We were in the room!" she hisses.

"And? We were quiet."

"I know about it, don't I?"

"You're a warrior, you should know that barracks and privacy are not good bunkmates," Callisto raised an eyebrow. "You telling me you've never had had something like this happen before?"

"No! No... recreating while I'm in the room!"

"It's never happened? Gods, what do they feed you back home to keep the good little soldiers out of each other's bunks?"

"That is not public, that's all," she says. "It's not that it doesn't happen, we just don't have to hear it."

"It wasn't public. It was in Angel's room."

"John and I were there! That's public! No more!"

Congratulations, you're almost making her flail.

"Two people, who were asleep! I've known couples who had no problem doing it in the company of half a troop."

"Not asleep! And I'm not one of those couples! And if you are, keep it out of that room!"

"If you weren't asleep why didn't you say something? We could have moved to the bathroom."

Aeryn buries her face in her hands. "Just... NO."

"Aeryn, it's just sex, it wasn't like we were even doing anything kinky."

"NO. Your room. Next time, from now on, your room."

A replicator leapt over to squat on Aeryn's desk, whirring loudly before scampering away.

Aeryn just shakes her head and goes on talking.

The replicator is quite forlorn at being ignored. It climbs up Aeryn's chair and latches onto her hair.

Aeryn snatches it out without flail and says very clearly, "No."

The replicator is very upset that She's telling it NOT to spray the insolent alien person thing with acid. Its legs flail in the air as it is held by the insolent alien person.

Aeryn bends down to put it back on the floor. "Go on," she tells it. "I'm working."

Whirring, the replicator races back to its station, feeling slightly put out.
