Medical Post: The Gym

Susan, Zhaan, and others have numerous cots set up with dividers, and a table with their instruments in one corner of the gym. They are treated the injured and preparing for more casualties. After some quick and hasty introductions, they got ready for any incoming patients and hoped there wouldn't be any.

ETA: Post is closed to new play as of 11:22 EST. If you're injured, come into the clinic tomorrow-- the doctors are as fried as their players.

"I think we should probably do an examination to make sure," said Janet. "But first let's check out this cut in your shoulder that Nadia mentioned."

Janet moved to start examining the wound.

OOC: Let me know how bad you want it to be. I'm assuming shallow, since you're in the minor injuries thread. Do you want it to be okay with just bandages? A couple of minor sutures?

He couldn't remove his uniform until the icicle was removed, but he did his best to make his wounded shoulder accessable anyway.

[ooc: Yeah, just something minor that hurts a lot and bleeds a bit, but isn't serious. The costume took most of the brunt out of the icicle, but it's still lodged in, so he might need a few stitches.]

Janet frowned at the icicle. "Well, at least it's stopped you from bleeding much," she said. "I'm going to need to cut the fabric from around the wound; we need to bandage it first."

She reached for a pair of surgical scissors and some sterile gauze, hoping the icicle didn't melt before she was finished.

"Those probably...won't work," Victor explained, feeling a little dizzy. "Unstable molecules are...tough..."

[ooc: Yeah, they will. It's just a lot harder to cut.]

"Were you hit on the head?" asked Janet, eyeing Victor. She looked at the uniform, looked at the scissors, and then started cutting. It was tougher than she thought it would be--it looked just like spandex--but eventually she managed to cut enough away that she felt confident in removing the icicle.

She got gauze, disinfectant, and a suture kit ready, then eyed Victor. "This will hurt. Got something to hold onto?"

OOC: If you have no objections, I'm just going to state "and lo, Janet blah, blah, blah" after your next response, and we'll move onto the tongue. My brain is a little fried.

Shit.

He held out his hand to Walter.

[ooc: No worries. Do what you need to do. :)

Oh, and the tongue is completely healed. Long story short, it's an appreved interpretation of canon.]

Walter gave Victor his right hand and didn't look away while the doctor worked. It was going to hurt, but no one was going to die. They were lucky.

Victor didn't look at Walter as the doctor worked, but held onto his hand tightly. If anyone was payign attention, they'd notice that Victor's hand was turning the same shade as his boyfriend's skin.

Janet noticed Victor's skin changing color as she finished up her work, but she didn't say anything. She had other things on her mind.

Janet nodded once, to indicate that she was ready, then held gauze next to the injury to clamp down on any blood flow as she removed the icicle. In one smooth move, she withdrew the icicle from the wound and held the gauze firmly down. Once she'd seen the flow of blood if any was there, your wound, your call stop, she removed the gauze and swabbed it with disinfectant.

"Almost done," she said, then sutured it closed. *handwave, handwave* "Try not to get those wet. After this, you're getting into warm clothing. But first, let's see that tongue."

OOC: Cool. But Janet's going to want to check it to be sure it's not wounded. :) You have an abnormal tongue, right?

FUCK!

He squeezed hard, and absently hoped that he wouldn't break his lover's hand.

The icicle hurt just as much coming out as it did going in. Blood flowed out of the wound, but was easily stopped by the doctor's efforts.

The rest was more of a blur, and the next thing he remembered was the doctor asking to see his tongue. Obediently, he stuck it out, even extending it a little. It was prbably still a little bloody, but for all intents and purposes, it was uninjured.

Janet pulled out a tongue depressor and her penlight. "Looks like you're good," she said. "You don't seem hypothermic, just cold." She nodded at the blankets and the spare clothing. "Change now, grab some blankets, and keep those sutures clean. You'll have to show up at the clinic in a week or so approximately, omg, am I handwaving to have them removed."

She glanced over at Walter, then back at Victor. "You guys can stay here or you can head home. Or go to the victory party. I'm sure there's one on the second floor. That's where the victory parties usually are."

OOC: You reply and leave, and we're done, or do you want more? :) Great scene!

"Thanks..." Victor said, and winced as he stood up.

"Let's go home," he told Walter, and wobbled a little.

[ooc: No, I'm cool. Go get some rest, and thanks! :)]

Janet waved as the left. Everything seemed to be calming down. Maybe she could go and get some sleep.

Her ribs twinged. It was going to hurt like hell getting to the room, though.

OOC: Yay!

Walter stepped in and put an arm around Victor to walk him up to his room.

Walter knew the best thing he could do at the moment was stay out of the doctor's way, but he stayed where Victor could see him and watched him carefully.

He'd probably be very disturbed later. For the moment, he's more focused.
