Medical Post: The Gym

Susan, Zhaan, and others have numerous cots set up with dividers, and a table with their instruments in one corner of the gym. They are treated the injured and preparing for more casualties. After some quick and hasty introductions, they got ready for any incoming patients and hoped there wouldn't be any.


ETA: Post is closed to new play as of 11:22 EST. If you're injured, come into the clinic tomorrow-- the doctors are as fried as their players.

Nadia helped Victor over to the cot and stepped back, huddled up as much as she could in her coat and trying not to sway.

Walter pulled a chair up behind Nadia. "Sit." He then began to look for some blankets for her.

Nadia was not dumb or noble enough to protest, just sat numbly. "Gracias."

She kept her eyes on Victor, though.

Jarod came over after Janet left with Victor. "Nadia? What's wrong?

Nadia glanced up at Jarod and gave him a weak smile. "Shoulder. Just a flesh wound. I could use a shirt, though."

Jarod pulled his shirt over his head and handed it to her as he walked behind her. "Nadia? You've got an icicle in your shoulder. It's going to have to come out. You'll probably need stitches, but not too many, since it's a puncture wound."

He walked over to the medications, and returned with a couple of white pills and a small glass of water. "Here."

"Let me know when you're ready for the icicle to come out."

Nadia accepted the pills, water, and shirt with a smile. "Thanks." She tossed the pills back dry, drank the water, then slid the shirt over her arms for the time being.

No need to upset the prudish Americans with semi-nudity.

"Just pull it out. I'd rather get it over with."

Nadia gripped the arms of her chair with a determined expression. "Do it."

Jarod wrapped the icicle in a towel and pulled, hard. It came out of her shoulder smoothly and was still cold enough that the blood didn't flow immediately.

"I'm going to sew this up while it's still numb from the ice, Nadia."

He began to do so, hoping he could get the job done quickly.

Nadia didn't say anything. She was trying not to throw up. But she continued to grip the chair and waited it out.

All things considered? She'd still had worse days. Just, you know, not a whole lot of them.

He finished sewing Nadia up, then cleaned and bandaged the wound, then gave her handwavey instructions on its care. "Anything else you need repaired?"

Nadia carefully pulled the shirt he'd loaned her over her head and just as carefully pulled her coat back on. Those little white pills were finally kicking in.

"My faith in the security of the school?" She smiled slightly to show she didn't mean it. Or rather, she did, but didn't expect him to fix it. "Thanks. I'll see you at Caritas soon, yeah?"

"Can't help you there," He said, cleaning up the medical supplies. "Take it easy, and I'll see you around. You okay getting back to your room?"

Nadia stood carefully, then nodded. "The world didn't just start spinning, so I should be okay. Thanks again."

She gave him a wave as she started slowly out of the gym. She'd seen Victor and Walter head out while Jarod was stitching her, and knew Walter would take care of the green kid, so her only goal now was to go. to. bed.

"No problem. Sleep well." He waved and cleaned off the work area, then sunk into his chair, head in his hands. This was not the day to have on no sleep.

Walter returned and tucked a few blankets over her legs, leaving her shoulder untouched and went to join Victor (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/573150.html?thread=27619038#t27619038).
