Medical Post: The Gym

Susan, Zhaan, and others have numerous cots set up with dividers, and a table with their instruments in one corner of the gym. They are treated the injured and preparing for more casualties. After some quick and hasty introductions, they got ready for any incoming patients and hoped there wouldn't be any.

ETA: Post is closed to new play as of 11:22 EST. If you're injured, come into the clinic tomorrow-- the doctors are as fried as their players.

Lana looks at him strangely wondering if the cold or his injuries have affected his brain. "You peed on a shark? With lethal pee? I guess that's a good thing."

"Well, anything hot was lethal. I wanted to use blood, but Carter suggested something a little more... expendable. And before you ask, no, I did not hit my head. Someone hit Carter's head. With a coffee mug."

Maia walked through the minor injury ward trying to find a phone, she held Han's jacket still in one hand and she was covered in blood. She saw Lana and Shep, fear gripping her heart she hurried over. "Lana, Shep are you guys ok?"

Lana's eyes got huge. "Maia! You're covered in blood and that - is that Han's jacket? Are you - is he - all right?"

Looking at the blood on Maia, Shep responded with, "I think we should be asking you that!"

Maia seemed to finally look down and see the blood on her clothes for the first time since the accident. "Han, he- we were fighting the snowmen, they got him in the chest with some ice or something. They took him to surgery." Maia's voice was oddly hallow as she said this, her hand still very tightly holding onto Hans' jacket.

Shep nods, taking in the news. "Han's damn near indestructable," he soothes Maia.

"There was so much blood." Maia whispered staring down at his jacket.

Lana stands there as if frozen for a moment, then moves over to Maia almost on autopilot. "You need to sit down before you fall down. Are you hurt anywhere?" She's checking Maia out visually for any injuries.

Maia looked at Lana blinking as though trying to focus. She shook her head and sat down in a nearby chair. "No-I no I don't think I am. I mean, other then some scratches no I'm ok." she said not letting go of Hans jacket the front of which was ripped to shreads from the ice impact. "Bagoas.." She said looking at Lana, "We need, Bagoas needs to know."

Lana carefully tucked Maia's hair back soothingly. "It's okay. I can call him if you give me the number. You just sit here and rest. Let me take the jacket, hon, I'll take real good care of it." She's worried that Maia may be going into shock.

"You warm enough, hon?" She feels Maia's hands and face.

Maia looked at the jacket and then back at Lana. "I'm holding it for Han. He's in surgery." Maia looked at the jacket again "I don't want anything to happen to it, its cold outside, he'll get cold if he doesn't have his jacket."

Lana gently took the coat out of her hands. "I'll hold on to it for you, Maia. You know I'll take good care of it and that I'll make sure Han is warm enough."

She tucked another strand of Maia's hair behind her ear. "Let's get you out of those clothes and into something warm and dry. Get you cleaned up."

She shot a look over at Shep, knowing he was okay and that he'd understand that she had to take care of Maia. "I'll find you later, okay? Or you find me," she said to him.

She put an arm around Maia and helped her up, feeling Han's blood start to seep into her own clothing as she did so. "Let's get you back to your room."

Hoping Maia knew that he was just kidding her a little to get her to lighten up he said, "You know you'd think by now you'd be used to it." He holds up his left arm.

Maia looked at Shep's arm and smiled a little remembering the chaos from that night. "Always hard to see it. I think, I think maybe it was my fault." She said in a quiet voice.

"Were you the one out there making psycho snow sharks? I don't think so. Relax... getting worked up won't help him. Hey speaking of helping him, were you his lamaze coach too?"

Maia blinked slowly at Shep not understanding him at first and then she answered "No we were talking about cards." Maia's voice was sounding hallow again. "and that he was going to have the fastest ship someday."

"Blood, yeah, not so expendable. Remind me to thank Carter later. And not so easy to aim, I'd guess." Lana really can't believe she's having this conversation, but it is Fandom. She looks at his hands soaking in the water. "Uh... I can't believe I'm asking this, but is frostbite an issue anywhere... um... *else* that someone should be taking care of?"

She stops, "Wait. *You* didn't hit Carter with the coffee mug, did you?"

Shep looks all afronted... only not. "Lana! How dare you accuse me? I think Rory did it... from the roof."

"As for the frostbite... if they ever let me out of here, you can check for me." He raises a mischievious eyebrow.

She almost smiles at his righteous mock-indignation. "Uh huh..."

Then blushes at his suggestion, but nods. "I think you're right. A full very careful examination to check... all of you out. Make sure everything's whole and in working order." A smile definitely quirks across her lips this time.

"Yes, well, that's assuming they ever get over here to look at my leg so I can leave." He's getting sleepy now. The adrenaline is leaving his system and he'd really like to pass out now.

"And after you get some rest. No fun if you fall asleep." She looks curiously at his leg and the - melting ice cast? "What did you do to it. I'm certified in first aid, want me to look at it, see if there's anything I can do?"

"Ummm... that's nice and all. But I don't know of any standard first aid course that cover snow shark bites. Even Elizabeth seemed a little out of her depth with that one."

Lana raises her eyebrows. "Well, you're out of luck then, I guess. Hopefully someone will be along soon."

[ooc: and tomorrow morning we can... make stuff up. 'Cause I relly need to go to bed now. :)]
