Medical Post: The Gym

Susan, Zhaan, and others have numerous cots set up with dividers, and a table with their instruments in one corner of the gym. They are treated the injured and preparing for more casualties. After some quick and hasty introductions, they got ready for any incoming patients and hoped there wouldn't be any.

ETA: Post is closed to new play as of 11:22 EST. If you're injured, come into the clinic tomorrow-- the doctors are as fried as their players.

"We do tend to dislike the... vastness of space. Although there are quite a few plants which thrive in the environment. Especially when placed close to a phase-shifting star," Zhaan paused, a strange little smile on her lips, then took her hands and closed her eyes to call on her energy reserves to start warming the young woman. Without opening them, she prompted, "And your favorite food?"

"I like vodka," Ivanova announced. "And chocolate. Tonks sells chocolate. I like Tonks, too."

She was starting to feel very sleepy and very fuzzy, like that stage of drunk she usually skipped, preferring instead to move right from 'belligerent' to 'passed out'.

Catching the comment about the head wound, and that she wasn't cold, Zhaan frowned slightly, but moved to inspect the wound. She reached for the sterile gauze and carefully wiped away the blood. Like most head wounds, it's bled far more than indicated. There was still a sizable gash in Ivanova's head.

"I don't believe you'll need stitches," was Zhaan's verdict as she shook her slightly. "But you need to stay awake. You may have a concussion."

"Really?" Ivanova said sarcastically. Or it would have been sarcastic if it had been more than a fuzzy mumble. She tried to sit up straighter and keep her eyes open, but it was getting much more difficult. This dratted fuzziness. If only it would clear away.

Zhaan pressed a pad to the wound to halt the bleeding, and eyed Ivanova's fluttering eyelids. "You need to stay awake, my dear." She paused, remembering they hadn't had time for introductions. "I am Zhaan, and you are?"

"Ivanova. Susan Ivanova. Commander. Daughter . . ." she continues, her words trailing off into inaudibility, but the phrases 'sorry ass', 'sweetheart', and 'god sent me' were definitely involved somehow.

"The goddess does have a sense of humour," Zhaan murmured, then her gaze sharpened. "Stay with me, Susan Ivanova."

It was so frustrating. Ivanova felt like she could see herself being fuzzy and stupid and she couldn't do anything about it. She wanted . . . someone. Tonks, specifically. "Have you seen . . . a girl with pink hair?" she asked slowly. Yes would mean she was injured. No would mean she was possibly injured and/or dead. She wasn't sure what she wanted to hear.

A girl with pink hair. "I believe I have, but not recently," Zhaan replied carefully. "Is she someone you saw during the fighting?"

"I hope she wasn't in the fighting," Ivanova replied. "Hope she's safe. Hope's she's warm and safe. But she's not here, which is good. Except that she's not here." In her mind, this made perfect sense.

And it did, in a way. Another smile crossed Zhaan's lips and she gently lessened the pressure and pulled a corner of the pad up to check on the bleeding. Seeing it had stopped, she removed the gauze completely, and carefully applied antibiotic ointment before asking, "Where else does it hurt?"

"Right shoulder, left knee," she muttered. "Took a few iceballs. Might be bruised. They'll turn pretty colours. Don't hurt badly, though." Alright, enough of this consciousness crap, her body said.

Ivanova abruptly fainted, toppling forward off the cot.

Cursing softly in nebari (a language oddly full of useful phrases, considering their tendency towards social perfection), Zhaan barely caught Ivanova in time. Managing her carefully, she laid her on the bed, and sighed, glancing at Lyta. "Well, at least she'll be warm."

She shifted to investigate the knee, fingers probing gently, even though there would be no pain with her unconscious.

Lyta smirked. "Well, I probably can't get her up the stairs, so I'll leave her in your capable hands. I'm going to take myself to the room before I do the same."

She looked to Zhaan with a slight smile. "Thank you for your help. I'll check on her in the morning."

"You're welcome." Zhaan gave Lyta a once-over, decided she probably wasn't injured, and merely said, "Sleep well, and remember to drink something warming. I recommend hot cocoa."

"I think hot tea will have to do." She turned, then paused, turning back. "Good night."

She then returned to her original path and made her way out of the room.

Deciding the knee was merely bruised, but that it would require watching, Zhaan fought back a yawn as she moved to inspect the shoulder before sitting down near the cot and slowly sipping a mug of tea.

It would be a long night.
