Medical Post: The Gym

Susan, Zhaan, and others have numerous cots set up with dividers, and a table with their instruments in one corner of the gym. They are treated the injured and preparing for more casualties. After some quick and hasty introductions, they got ready for any incoming patients and hoped there wouldn't be any.

ETA: Post is closed to new play as of 11:22 EST. If you're injured, come into the clinic tomorrow-- the doctors are as fried as their players.

"Christ," Tommy came over as soon as he saw her. "Okay, hang on, sweetheart. We're going to get you to a cot."

He moved to pick her up to carry her.

Hawkeye saw someone being carried to a cot. Someone seemed to have the situation under control, but he stayed close by just in case he was needed.

"Oh, thank god," Sam said, exhausted from the fight and making her way into the school. She normally wasn't big on being carried, but she decided to make an exception and tried to make herself carryable. "Hi."

Tommy lifted her easily. Toting people around was worlds easier when you didn't have gear on. He carried her over to a cot and immediately saw this one was out of his league.

"Little help here?" He called out to any docs who might have been listening.

Susan rushed over as soon as she saw how much blood there was, and called, "We need some assistance here!" back over to Hawkeye and Janet. "All right, what happened? And what's your name, and age? Can you tell me?" She asked as Tommy put Sam down on the examining table. She winced at the mangling of Sam's foot, and swallowed. "Get Hawkeye," she told Gavin.

"Sam!" Janet rushed over to the cot, wincing when she saw Sam's injuries. She immediately started assessing them, but-- They don't know you're a doctor here. You can't singlehandedly start treating her.

She looked over to see if the Vice-Principal was on his way. She'd had no idea ~~the player was pretty sure~~ that he was a doctor.

Susan was treating the head wound, and asking, "Do you know what your blood-type is, Sam? And do you know what day it is, and where you are?"

Sam looked at Janet. "A positive. Saturday. Hell. Er, Fandom. And I'm Samantha Carter. I'm 17."

He helped her to lay down on her side. "It's okay, Samantha, but I need you to stay awake. We're going to take some pictures of your head, make sure nothing's been broken." He was hesitant about checking manually for skull fractures just now, especially since it was at the back of her head. He continued to clean up the blood. There was no cerebrospinal fluid in the mix. That was a good sign. "What happened to your leg?"

Sam blinked and tried to stay awake. "Bitten by one of the snow sharks. Really sharp, cold teeth."

"Okay." He took a moment to have a look. "It doesn't look like it's gone too deep, it's just messy down there. We'll patch that up."

"Good. I like to wear skirts."

Hawk grinned. "You'll be wearing skirts in no time. What classes are you taking, Samantha?" The idea was to keep her awake until that damned x-ray machine got here. If it wasn't here soon, he was going to recommend packing her up and getting her to the clinic.

Susan pulled over the X-Ray machine ~~out of time and space and Batou's laag~~ and set it up, just as more patients came in. "I can take over for this, Hawkeye, if you want to check the boy who's bleeding?"

"Right." He pulled off his gloves and grabbed a new set on his way over to the kid he'd put into detention for being in the girls bathroom.

"Quantum Physics...Shop..." Her eyes drifted shut, but she blinked them open again, "Advanced Criminal Justice....U.S. Government...and, er, Tactics of War. With the cyborg bitch."

It was possible that Sam had lost too much blood.

Janet squeezed Sam's hand. "I can't stay," she said. "But I won't be far off, okay? Holler if you need me."

She went off to check on Kara since Sam was being attended to.

"I'm here." He moved in and grabbed the gauze from the started cleaning up the blood from her head so he could see what the damage was. "Keep that leg immobilized. Do we have an x-ray machine?"

"Yes, but it's in the clinic." Susan looked around for Batou, who'd been so helpful before. "Batou! Could you come here, please? We need your help."

The sound of his name drew Batou's attention away from trying to dry out his jacket. Slinging it over one shoulder, he walked over. "Problem?"

"Could you go over to the clinic, and retrieve the X-Ray machine for us?" Susan asked. "We need it as quickly as possible. It's just across the school courtyard. If Dr. House is there, tell him that Dr. Pevensie needs it. Please?"

He nodded. "Not a problem."

A short time later, Batou walked back into the gym with the X-Ray machine and a few kids in tow. (http://community.livejournal.com/fandom_clinic/64471.html?thread=2988759#t2988759) "Where would you like me to put this?"

"Over here, with Samantha," Susan shot a look at the children. "Could you take them to the correct medical stations, so someone can help them? We're rather short-handed."

He nodded and hauled the machine where he was directed to. "I can do some basic first aid, too, if need be."
