Medical Post: The Gym

Susan, Zhaan, and others have numerous cots set up with dividers, and a table with their instruments in one corner of the gym. They are treated the injured and preparing for more casualties. After some quick and hasty introductions, they got ready for any incoming patients and hoped there wouldn't be any.

ETA: Post is closed to new play as of 11:22 EST. If you're injured, come into the clinic tomorrow-- the doctors are as fried as their players.

Susan had the charts, supply lists, and problems placed on one table to the side, and stopped by there with a cup of coffee when it was quieter.

Parker was actually grateful to have something to do, when Dr. Pevensie pulled over bandage piles and a cooler of blood, and settled Rory in the cot next to her. "If you could sort these by blood type, and these by size, I'd appreciate it-- we had no time to be sure that everything was properly organized when it got here. And keep your feet up!" she cautioned both of them, before going off to help someone else.

"Hey," Parker said, wincing. "You look like I feel."

"What happened?" Rory asked, concerned. She began to sort the bandages, careful not to jostle her knee as she leaned to grab them.

"Logan's house was eaten by a snow monster. I got grabbed by a tentacle and banged around." Parker winced, starting to go through the blood bags in the cooler. Most of them were in order, but one or two were out of place. She glared at her foot. "Sprain and concussion. You? What's going on out there?"

"Oh no," Rory said sadly. "Are you feeling okay now? And...sad. I loved that house." She gestured vaguely at her knee, wincing slightly at the movement in her bruised shoulder. "Snow monster thing threw a really hard snowball, got me in the knee. Nothing serious, but Lee insisted and Dr. Pevensie won't let me go back up on the roof."

"Yay, Dr. Pevensie," Parker said, re-filing an O-neg with the right grouping. "I'm fine, just woozy and not allowed to sleep. Hawkeye stitched my head," she gestured to it, "And Jarod fixed my ankle." This brought on an almost-snarl. "I'm more worried about Molly. She hasn't woken up since we got back, just laid over there, out cold."

Rory glanced over at Molly worriedly. "Maybe it's a mutant thing? I know Jakey gets really tired if he uses his powers. Did she throw any monsters around or anything?"

"She was whapping tentacles right and left, it all happened so fast I could barely follow it. I think she got throw into a wall, but not that hard," Parker said, biting her lip. "We had to leave Angel and Logan there, did they make it back? I haven't sen anyone or heard anything since Lee dropped me off and Cally left."

Rory blanched, and tried to think of who she had spotted battling the snow monsters from the roof. She bit her lip, realizing that when she had been looking down, she'd been concentrating on watching one particular dark figure wielding a blue light.

She squinted in recognition.

"I might have seen them," she ventured. "I know I saw something Angel-ish. But it could've been some other dark, broody guy. And I'm pretty sure I saw Logan with something fiery, but I could be wrong. It was hard to watch 'em."

Parker nodded, unhappy. "I hope so. They had flares. And axes. They just had to get away, the thing wanted to eat the *house*." She sighed, and re-filed the AB positive in the correct place. "At least Pippi brought me my weapons in case we need them here," she said with satisfaction, nudging her backpack under the cot, where she'd dumped it when she got in.

"Lucky," Rory smiled, sorting bandages into neat piles. "I didn't have weapons, of course. But I threw hot oil on them. And coffee! And I actually hit them most of the time."

"Nice job," Parker congratulated her. "I've got a couple flares leftover in my jacket. We really need a firebomb, damnit." She finished with her cooler, and stretched, then winced. "Hand me a couple bandages? Did you see where anyone else was? Angela was in her a while ago, but they let her leave."

Rory handed Parker a handful of bandages.

"Angela was back on the roof when Lee brought me down here, I think. Jaye's up there too, and Vala, Cordelia and Jack." She frowned, thinking. "There were a bunch of people on the ground fighting. I know I saw Anakin down there, and whatshisnamethisweek-the-demon was throwing fireballs, and I saw Sam."

She tugged on her ponytail. "Aside from them, it was kind of hard to focus on who was which shape where."

Parker bounced, then winced, and started to sort bandages. "God, I wish I were out there, this is making me nuts."

"Ditto," Rory said with a frown. "By the way, whenever you guys go do that other thing? I'm, um, not going."

It took a second for Parker to sort this out, then she slumped in relief a little. "Good. I mean, I didn't want to be all we-must-protect you, but seriously, Rory. I was worried how well you'd handle it."

"Yeah, well, I don't like it still."

She glanced over at Parker. "Whenever you guys go? Do me a favor and make sure he - you know which 'he' I mean - doesn't do anything stupid and 'brave'."

She airquoted the last word sarcastically, but worry was more than evident in her face.

"Hey, for that matter, just...keep everyone on check. Don't let Angel pull his brooding protective hero crap, either."

"Not a chance," Parker confirmed. "I'm already going to make him prove he's not so deep in brood he can't talk before we let him out of here. Don't worry, the other 'guy'" -- she airquoted as well-- "will have people watching his back as well. And we have no aspirations to heroism." She grinned. "Just winning."

"Good," Rory said, slightly relieved. "Any thoughts on what I can do from here? Because...really, I do want to go, to help, but if you don't stop me, Angel or Anakin will lock me in my room or something. So I'm definitely not coming. But there has to be something I can do other than sitting around here, twiddling my thumbs and anxiously waiting for everyone to return."

Parker sighed, and rubbed her eyes. "Well, it's probably not going to happen for a day or two anyway, and hopefully I'll get to go. But maybe help us figure out weapons? Or maps? And make sure that the infirmary is ready, after we've gone and they can't stop us?" She shook her head, then, dryly: "This is my first vampire hunt, I'm not sure what's going to be necessary."

Rory nodded. "I can do that. Seriously, any research you guys need, any...domestic-y stuff I can take care of so you all don't have to worry about it, let me know."

"Definitely," Parker promised. "I have a feeling this isn't going to be as easy as we think it will."
