Medical Post: The Gym

Susan, Zhaan, and others have numerous cots set up with dividers, and a table with their instruments in one corner of the gym. They are treated the injured and preparing for more casualties. After some quick and hasty introductions, they got ready for any incoming patients and hoped there wouldn't be any.

ETA: Post is closed to new play as of 11:22 EST. If you're injured, come into the clinic tomorrow-- the doctors are as fried as their players.

Lee blinks. "Lee Adama."

"Why don't you sit down too? Just for a rest?" Susan suggested. As far as she knew, he'd been out in the snow all afternoon, bringing people in to be treated, or fighting monsters. A break would be the very least he needed.

"I gotta get back out there. ~~Cylons keep coming every 33 minutes, woe~~" he says, standing to attention.

"Down," Susan said, for once using her Authoritative Voice. "For ten minutes, at least. You can wait that long, and have some coffee. You need the rest. Understood? You had better be here when I get back out, young man."

There is something ...err... queenly...in her voice that makes him instantly sit down. "Yes ma'am."

After treating Rory, and helping her to a cot to rest, Susan came back over to Lee with a cup of coffee and sandwich. "Thank you for waiting, Mr. Adama. Here. I'm sure you need this by now."

"Thank you, doctor," Lee says and obediantly takes the coffee and sandwich. "I do appreciate it."

"Are you injured at all? What's going on out there? I'm afraid we haven't heard much, just bits that have trickled in with the injuries." Susan watched to make sure he was eating all of it, and began to relax.

"Just a little cold, bruised and pissed off," he says with a shrug. "Nothing I can't take." A few ice crystals fall out of his hair, however.

"The school's being attacked by snow monsters that keep regenerating after you kill them. I... I have to get back out there as soon as I can."

"Another twenty minutes?" Susan coaxed him. "Just until you're warmed up again. I understand it's important, but I don't want anyone getting hypothermia by normal means, never mind supernatural."

Lee grumbles but he supposes that crossing this woman will result in bad consequences. "As you wish."

"Thank you, Lee." She gave him a bright smile. "And Rory is worried about her coffee makers? So if you could reassure her that they'll be fine, it would be appreciated."

"Will do," Lee says.

Rory sat on the cot obediently. "I took a big snowball to my knee," she sighed, pointing.

She winced again. "And it hurts a lot more now that I'm actually not freezing," she admitted.

"Let's take a look at it, shall we?" Susan made sure the curtain was secure, then helped Rory out of her jeans, careful not to jostle her leg more than she had to. "Oh, that does look ugly. Can you move it?"

Rory, blushing, experimentally bent her knee.

"Ow. Yes, but it hurts," she said, blinking at the colors her knee was already turning.

"Right." Susan very gently moved the knee again, noting that there were no protusions, and the muscles didn't appear to be injured. "I think it's just a very bad bruise, so I'm going to ice it, wrap it, and you are going to get a cot to prop your foot up on. All right?"

"Okay," Rory agreed. "I need to get back up on the roof, though."

"You're not going anywhere, Rory. You can't run away with your leg like this, and you're certainly going to injure it more severely if you try. I'll be right back with the wrap and some ibuprofen." Susan shook her head as she went out to grab supplies. Honestly, all these intense children were making her feel rather old.

Rory sighed. "Right. Okay. But, Dr. Pevensie? My coffee makers are up there," she called after Susan.

"I'll have Lee bring them down, the next time he returns, shall I?" Susan offered as she returned with the ice and Ace Bandage. "Now, lift your leg up-- there, hold it steady--" Susan wrapped it until it was immobile, then gently lowered it. "Let's get you over to one of the recovery cots."

Rory allowed Susan to lead her to a cot, looking woeful.

"Is there anything I can do to help while I'm in here?" she asked.

Susan cocked her head, considering, then realized they hadn't had time to go through and sort the bandages, or the blood supplies. "If you could sort our bandages by size? And the blood bags by typing, in the coolers? That would be an enormous help." She nodded over to Parker. "I think your friend is rather bored as well, if she wants to help, that would be all right."

Rory noticed Parker, and waved. "Okay. I can do that. Point me to the bandages and blood."
