Medical Post: The Gym

Susan, Zhaan, and others have numerous cots set up with dividers, and a table with their instruments in one corner of the gym. They are treated the injured and preparing for more casualties. After some quick and hasty introductions, they got ready for any incoming patients and hoped there wouldn't be any.

ETA: Post is closed to new play as of 11:22 EST. If you're injured, come into the clinic tomorrow-- the doctors are as fried as their players.

Parker was miserably looking at her foot, and cradling her head where it still needed stitches.

"Evening," Hawkeye greeted and pulled out a penlight. "Enjoying your stay?"

"Not even slightly," she growled, glaring in Jarod's general direction and weaving a little on her cot. "He cut my boot!"

"Make him buy you a new one. And dinner. Just the one boot, though. It wouldn't be fair to make the man buy two when he only ruined one." He tilted her head up and checked her pupils. "Any dizziness, fatigue, blurred vision, hallucinations? Not that they'd tell you that they were hallucinations, of course."

"Heh," Parker closed her eyes. "Dizzy. And yeah, the vision. Kinda sick-feeling." She winced as he tilted her head, and stared at him with blown-open pupils. "Do snow monsters count?"

"I'm afraid they're very real, or as real as snow monsters can be. Well, you're pupils are fine, but the dizziness has me a little concerned. I'll stitch that up, but you're not going anywhere for a while."

"Crap," Parker muttered, staring at her elevated and wrapped foot. "I thought I could just get crutches. Damnit." She yawned hugely. "Stupid snow monsters. Stupid Jarod. Stupid snow."

"I agree to number one and number three, but I don't know Jarod other than through his handiwork," he gestured to her foot. "And through that, I like him. Hold still while I fix this up. If you move, it's going to hurt more."

He got the equipment and started stitching up the cut.

"He's not buying me dinner," she said, very quietly so as not to distract Hawkeye. "I'd kick his ass. I'm not talking to him." She winced as the needle went in, not because it hurt, but because it felt weird.

"But if you don't talk to him, you can't get your new boot," Hawkeye said as he worked. "And where would we be without boots? Bootless, that's where. A bootless world wouldn't be very fun. After all, there'd be no boots."

"That's true. Can't freeboot without boots, after all." Parker giggled very softly. "Very true. He owes me Prada. I'm glad you appreciate the boots, Dr. Hawkeye." She yawned again, then widened her eyes. "Why'm I so tired?"

"You might have mild concussion. Your pupils look good enough, but they're not always a clear indicator. You seem alert enough, but head injuries are a tricky thing. You can rattle the brain in its little brain baggy and it doesn't like it, so it tries going slower to make sure it doesn't break down." He finished up the stitching and cleaned it up. "But I need you to stay awake. And you'll need to come in and get someone to take out those stitches in a few days, either to the clinic or to me. Don't get them wet, don't bump them and don't play with them. If you leave them alone, you won't have much of a scar."

"Oh." Parker nodded carefully. "Okay, I'll... be good." She looked around blearily, found Jarod again, glared, then looked back at Molly. "Thanks, Hawkeye. I'll try to stay awake."

She laughed, less shakily. "Cherry? Yay."

"Any flavor you want. You sit tight. I'm going to go torment some of the other patients."
