Danger Shop!Caritas:

After much hasseling from some guy with green skin, Mac opens the door to the Danger Shop and transforms it into a reasonable replica of the bar in town.

Lorne has smuggled in a bunch of alcohol onto the premises and has set up shop behind the bar.

Jake, Elwood and the rest of the band have set up their gear.

Mac hopes that his shop is still standing before the end of the weekend.

GOB walked up to the bar. He had no act, no props, needed a glass of Scotch, it was snowy outside, and he had no clue what he was doing.

But at least there wasn't anyone around at the moment to watch him look like a fool.

Except the band of course.

Jake wandered up to the bar and ordered another bottle of Night Train.

"You the opening act?" Jake asked.

The band began to play. It wasn't the standard theme of "The Final Countdown," though. It was "I Can't Turn You Loose."

GOB walked out onto the stage, feeling the magic of blues, which was useful since he had no real act to go on tonight. He did have one secret trick up his sleeve, though.

GOB did his usual opening of dramatically flailing about like a madman, throwing a couple cards, waving colored handkerchiefs, and being generally magical. Only he was doing it with a knife in his mouth, which was more impressive.

"Usually I'm the headliner, but since you're our guests, I guess you get top-billing." GOB sipped his drink, then held out a hand to shake. "GOB Bluth, master illusionist."

"Joliet Jake," he says shaking his hand. "Master blues man. I'm not one to follow magic acts, but it beats playing country music..."

There were too many people in the gym, so Lucas went exploring. He heard some decent blues music coming from one room and wandered in with his motorcycle helmet 'o' cookies to check it out.

He watched GOB's knife biting, flailing act with a head tilt and a contemplative look. If this was what passed for entertainment in this town, he'd have plenty of business.

"And I'm not one to lead off blues acts, but, yeah, country sucks," GOB said. "Hey, it's pretty quiet in here. It might be tough getting a good volunteer from the audience. What do you say, want to be in a magic act?"

"Me and magic? I don't think so. Maybe my brother Elwood."

Jake turns and yells across the room: "Hey Elwood!"

"Yup?"

"You want to volunteer for this guys magic act?"

"Yup."

"Great. I'll see you on stage in a bit," GOB said, toasting Elwood.

If she's going to have to sleep on her office couch, she needs a drink. Maybe two. Following Lorne and the shady looking musicians down to the Danger room, she takes her usual seat at sips at her usual drink.

"Can I get you the usual honey bunch? The drinks on me if you can tell me what's been going in your life."

Elwood stood on the stage with a flat emotionless look on his face. The fact that GOB had a knife in his mouth didn't seem to faze him.

In fact nothing seemed to faze him.

"The usual sounds perfect, sweetie. What's been going on...um, I've been seventeen all week. How's that to kick it off?"

GOB took the knife out of his mouth and tossed it carefully to the side. He pulled a deck of cards out of his pocket and spread the cards dramatically. He then held the cards up to Elwood and told him, "Take one, don't tell me what it is."

Elwood stoically takes a card and then puts it in his pocket without looking at it.

GOB stared for a moment. Usually people know to put the card back. Oh well, doesn't matter. He turned to the audience and paraded around the stage, holding the deck to his forehead, concentrating. When he reached Elwood again, he placed the deck on the ground and spoke. "Is your card, the Eight of Clubs?" he asked, pulling the Eight of Clubs out of ~~his sleeve~~ nowhere.

"Seventeen all week? I'm sorry I missed it sugar. Did you have fun with it?"

A whiskey sour appears, but without the usual cherry.

"Sorry about the lack of condiments. All Tino and I grabbed was booze."

Elwood pulled the card out of his pocket and looked at it.

"Nope."

He put the card back in his pocket.
