History of Art / Studio Art Combined Studio | Jan 27, Periods 5&6

As the students came into class, they would be able to see large photographic prints of Greek Statuary, as well several draperies and what looked suspiciously like white body paint. There are also a number of sketchpads and cameras.

"Okay kids, I want the History of Art students to split up into three groups of three and one of four.

"Once you're in your group, I want you to pick a statue and recreate it as accurately as possible, using the paint, the drapes and one of your group. Although please keep your clothes on. This is, after all, a school.

"Meanwhile, I want the studio art students to each take a camera and a sketchbook, and draw and photograph the History of Art students while they work. Try and work on cropping, balance and placement when taking photos. And it goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. Keep it clean."

"I just don't know how I feel about a girl chasing me," Lee quips and bites his nails mock-nervous.

"Well, I don't remotely feel like wood," Xander ~~lies~~ says. He glares at Parker as he... tries to do that thing with his wrists that the tree is doing. "And I'm not taking my shirt off. The tree doesn't have its shirt off."

Well, at least put the paint on your face then?" Lee suggests.

"You have to," Angela chimes in. "We did."

'Yeah, ok," Xander says reluctantly.

"Yaargh, that is cold!" he adds when he's spreading it over his face. "So very much not taking my shirt off and replacing it with this stuff!"

"Lee's the brave one," Angela agrees.

She tests Apollo's pose. "I'm not sure how long I can stay on one foot like this," she admits, wobbling.

Xander grabs a chair, and drapes a cloth over it. "How about I stand on this, so I'm not actually, you know, hanging off Lee's back, and you can rest your knee on it?"

"Hey, I can take the weight," Lee says, feeling his manhood insulted. Despite the fact that he's playing Daphne. Alas. "But if you're not comfortable clinging to my back..."

"No, I'm comfortable," Xander responds ~~uncomfortably~~, feeling his... he's not sure what he's feeling, but it's probably insulted. "If you're comfortable. Angela and have the chair for her foot."

"Well, um, positions please!" Lee says with a wry grin... cracking the white paint a bit.

"Help, help, I'm turning into a tree!"

Xander climbs ~~uncomfortably~~ on Lee's back, then says, "Uh. How am I supposed to hang on and have reachy branch fingers?"

Lee is starting to regret suggesting this, regret signing up for this course. He groans and adjusts and reaches out his arm like the woman in the sculpture while trying to puff out his chest. "Snake your arm up against my outreached arm," he suggests.

"Oh...kay." Xander -- whoa, hi. Arm. Xander did that. Thing. Which Lee had suggested. That. Hi. Arm. "Huh. I'm not sure why, but suddenly I'm feeling more in-character."

"Me too," Angela says, not wobbling hardly at all now that she has the chair.

The posture still makes her elbow feel weird, though.

"You could probably lean some of your weight on me of you wanted, Xan. I'm pretty stable."

"Xander, I need you to grope my arm a little tighter if I'm gonna keep you-- yeah," Lee says tightly as omg, person on his back.

"And Angela, is Apollo's hand on Daphne's side or her hip?"

Angela cranes her neck, studying the poster. "It's hard to see," she admits. "I think low on her waist."

She reaches forward and lightly places her hand just below Lee's ~~godmodded~~ belt. "Does that feel okay?"

"That's good," Lee says. "Now what do we do?"

"How can you tell?" Parker asks. "And... are you sure there's no wood involved?"

She does *not* look somewhere in particular. Really.

"Because trees don't have shirts?" Xander replies, totally pretending to ignore the other question, and doing that so hard shut up that he completely misses the fact that he just argued himself out of his shirt.

"Then I guess it's a good thing yours is coming off," Parker said guilelessly. She stifled a giggle at his expression, and took another shot of the statue-in-progress.

Xander, by this time, had the paint on his face, and was shaking his head no. "Nuh-uh. Not with the paint, anyway. ZOMG freezing!"

"Harris, Harris, Harris." Parker pouted at him. "It'll warm up. Lee will be holding you." She leaned in, and grinned. "Just give yourself a minute to-- adjust."

"Jealous?"

"Of who? Harris, Angela, or you?" Parker shot back with a grin. "Since you're *all* pretty."

Lee doesn't answer. He just pouts. And applies more white makeup.
