"I... said that?" Xander tried to remember when he'd said that. Had he even met the math teacher? "Oh, yeah - I think I was saying you couldn't judge by appearances around here, and what you thought was a gumball machine might be the new math teacher. Glad the real one gives out better food, though - I don't have any math classes, but I might end up stopping by anyway. Between that and Professor Ted's free twinkies, I might never have to hit the cafeteria again."

"You eat twinkies? I had to set some on fire for Grissom's class, but eat them? Are you insane?"

Walter grimaced and realized he hadn't actually ever been introduced to the twinkie-eating weirdo. "I am Walter." He stuck out a hand, that was regrettably (or not) not holding a twinkie.

"Xander." Xander shalf-rose and shook his hand. "I eat Twinkies. I may or may not be insane, and that may or may not be a direct cause or effect of the eating of Twinkies and other prepackaged baked goods. Also, I like pie."

He held up the boysenberry pie, which had at least three smallish slices left. "Pie?"

Offering Walter food has a single response. "Yes, thank you." He held out his plate.

"It is my pleasure to meet a man with pie. And I know many insane people who have never laid eyes on a twinkie, let alone eaten one, so I will withhold judgement on the cause and effect of twinkie eating on your sanity."

"I would miss you... Not that we've been eating lunch all this time... But still."

Xander grinned. "There is the 'interacting with other beings in a non-teachery environment' factor going fo the cafeteria."
