Shop Class

Today the classroom looks like a regular shop class again. Various materials have been pulled out of the storage room and the shop equipment has been set up.

Given how excited the students were about eating the food in the cooler in the last class, Mac has supplied an assortment of baked goods from Jeff the God of Biscuits and coffee.

Whether or not the coffee was made by one of the students previous projects? Mac isn't telling.

"Today's assignment is to build something that will assist one of your fellow students in their day to day life here in fandom."

[OOC Examples: Hair Care product caddy for Angel or Lee; a cricket bat rack for Marty; a frog pen for Xander's pet, etc.]

Kawalsky had to think about it for a while. He knew what he wanted to make, but he had to plan it out in his head. He collected the timber he needed and set about making the frame.

It was a rectangular box with no lid, about 10-15 inches deep. He measured it up so it was 55" long and 30" wide. He added an extra layer of timber to the bottom of the box for support.

He set about cutting out 8 holes in a row along each of the long sides of the box. At each of the ends along the shorter sides, Kawalsky added two blocks of wood in either corner that resulted in there being a significantly sized gap in the middle between the blocks. He added a small, thin piece of wood over the top. The goals were made.

He added legs to the table and made sure they were fixed properly so it wouldn't go crashing down.

Kawalsky rummaged through the materials and found several long metal rods that suited his purpose and put them down beside his project.

Unfortunately, he didn't finish in time. He should have known it was too big a project. He stood beside it with his hands on his hips looking at it. "It was meant to be a foosball table, for the second floor common room for everyone to use. It needs some little guys so I can attach them to the rods, and the rods need handles. Plus I need some seals, probably rubber, around those holes so it doesn't clank and pull out so easy. Needs a coat of paint, a ball and some scoring counters too." He shrugged, a little frustrated that he hadn't finished in time.
