History of Art | January 24th - Period 3

As the students file in they are given a handout and directed to their seats.

"Ancient Greek art focused mainly on the gods and heroes like Hercules, however those statues don't look anything like the guy. Trust me, Hercules didn't run around Greece wearing nothing but a lion skin, leaving his little Herc flapping in the breeze. He wore sensible tunics and leather trousers.

"Now the gods on the other hand, don't believe in practicality. Of course I suppose when you're a god you don't have to worry about practicality, but really, they could have some self respect. Discord in particular looks like a crazy hooker, and not like the kind they have down in the Sin. And let me tell you something else, a giant chicken in fetish gear is not a sight you ever want to see…"

Autolycus didn't ever get back to talking about Ancient Greek art, or assigning homework. But the class did learn more about the fashion choices of the Greek Gods then they ever wanted to know.

Xander, looking over her shoulder and still laughing, notes with some consternation -- though not enough to make him stop laughing -- that he's pretty sure he's seen something that looks a lot like that in one of his weirder penguins-in-the-bus-station dreams.

Angela senses Xander's eyes. Embarassed, she covers the drawing and turns to a fresh page.

Which she covers with eleaborate doodled band logos.
