The Tick was sitting at his desk looking slightly tired. Lockheed wasn't in class today. It was probably going to be an easy discussion.

"Hello, class! Lockheed is not with us today. He had something else to take care of. Today, we're taking a slight detour in our discussion. Today, we're talking about your experiences."

"I know that we have a lot of people from different cultures here, so I thought it would be keen to talk a little about Justice in your original environment! Please share some information with the class about a Justice organization from your home. It can be a superhero team, the military police, your local sheriff's department, or even the occasional lone individual who tries to write the wrongs in the world. As long as they are for justice and, I suppose, according to my earlier statement, are organized, share that bit of you with us!"

"For extra credit that is actually related to the lecture for once, please name your favorite Defender of Justice from your home!"

"Uh, their team is called the SunCircle and they've already saved thousands of people from disaster at the hands of Notorious Evildoers like The SnakeHeads, The False Prophets, and the SoulSuckers." Vala was warming to her topic.

"Ooh! SunCircle! I'm going to have to see if I can find any information about them. They sound keen!"

Well, damn, Vala'd gotten a head start on any of the Colorado Springs folk with that one. Maybe she could add something in for credit. And to confuse the issue.

"I think they wear masks because anyone knowing their true identities would be put at risk," said Janet.

"And they certainly never, ever refer to each other by name, because they're, well, secret. They have, er, codenames. For safety."

Rank could be considered a code name, right?

Marty made another note about this. Code Names?

This is the only laugh Parker is getting out of class. And it's more of a snort.

"Oh, of course. Secret identities are important!"

Janet? She and Vala come from the same place? Masks? Huh?

Sam bit her tongue really, really hard. There was blood and everything.

Marty looked over at Sam and then Vala.

Something was definitely weird going on between Vala, Sam and Janet.

Weird. Very Weird.

Marty wrote down everything Vala said for future reference.

"I appreciate the enthusiastic note-taking, Marty, but this won't be on a test. But still, good initiative!"

"Just making sure I understand the topic Professor Tick." Marty said scribbling down something about "SnakeHeads" and "Sticky Ends".

Janet was starting to get a feeling of impending doom for no reason whatsoever.
