Club Fair, the gym, Friday after classes

After leaving her classes, Jaye heads to the gym to start setting things up. To say she's disgruntled would be putting it mildly. She's practically datgruntled, too.

Lucky for her, Muppet chickens are easily bribeable, and they help shove tables into place and stick up signs for each one.

There are tables set up throughout the gym, each with a sign taped to the front with the name of the club. Student sponsors should probably be behind it if they want to sell their club. On each table is a clipboard to use when you sign up, but otherwise, you have all that space to put stuff on display or whatever.

Jaye sends the chickens to do their thing (and it's not her fault if a couple stick around to watch the show) takes a seat behind the table nearest to the door to do her thing. If you're rude, you might get thwapped with a clipboard.

All new clubs have a thread. Drop off a registration form with Jaye, and then go find your table and sell it.

All students have to either have a job or sign up for a club. Therefore, go find something. IF YOU DON'T SIGN UP, YOU ARE NOT CONSIDERED A MEMBER. So do so.]

Anakin blushed. "A super-powerful Jedi who, um, happens to look a bit like a turtle, yeah. Except the real Yoda has ears."

"Awww," Rory said. "He sounds cool. Why does he talk like that? Is there a reason?"

Anakin shrugged. "It's how he talks. He's 850 years old. I'm certainly not going to correct him on grammar."

He raised an eyebrow. "He could kick my ass, anyway. Probably without getting up."

Rory smiled. "I'm still boggling at the idea of something that little being so powerful. But I'm also kind of dumb about stuff like this, still."

Anakin grinned. "Yoda's great. Well, he doesn't really like me much, but yeah. He's been teaching Jedi for 800-something years. The first time you ever pick up a lightsaber? Yoda's there--normally about your height, too."

His eyes were shining at the memory. "He walks with a stick, so you think he wouldn't be any kind of a threat at all--and he doesn't like to use violence. But in a lightsaber duel?" Anakin let out a low whistle. "Whirlwind doesn't come close. Tatooine sand storm doesn't come close. One of the best there is--one of the best there's ever been."

"So, maybe physics are different where you're from? But I'm not getting how something that small can have that much force behind it," Rory said. "And I'm sure it has something to do with how you can float stuff."

Anakin ran a hand through his hair, ending with a yank on his braid. "Yeah, it's something to do with the Force. Because the rest of Master Yoda's species aren't so terribly powerful. In the Force? Yoda's second to pretty much no one in terms of strength. Well, me, but I'm ...well, different. And he's been training for centuries, so he has a much better mastery of, you know, everything."

"So wait. You are more powerful than this incredibly powerful little bitty guy?" Rory asked, clearly floored. "Because of, um, the Chosen One thing?"

Anakin winced. "Um. Yes?" He put up his hands. "But I'm still learning. And I have a lot to learn before I could even hope to be as wise or good a Jedi as Master Yoda. Or even Obi-Wan."

"That's - okay, wow," Rory said, eyes wide and sparkling. "I knew about the importance, and that you can do stuff, but...wow. That's amazing, Anakin."

Rory's thoughts? Somewhere around, 'My boyfriend is the most powerful person in his galaxy! And probably in this one too! SQUEE.'

"And that would be terrible," Anakin said, smiling slightly doofily. He gave Rory a small wave, then walked back to his table.

Where he didn't keep glancing at Rory.
