Club Fair, the gym, Friday after classes

After leaving her classes, Jaye heads to the gym to start setting things up. To say she's disgruntled would be putting it mildly. She's practically datgruntled, too.

Lucky for her, Muppet chickens are easily bribeable, and they help shove tables into place and stick up signs for each one.

There are tables set up throughout the gym, each with a sign taped to the front with the name of the club. Student sponsors should probably be behind it if they want to sell their club. On each table is a clipboard to use when you sign up, but otherwise, you have all that space to put stuff on display or whatever.

Jaye sends the chickens to do their thing (and it's not her fault if a couple stick around to watch the show) takes a seat behind the table nearest to the door to do her thing. If you're rude, you might get thwapped with a clipboard.

All new clubs have a thread. Drop off a registration form with Jaye, and then go find your table and sell it.

All students have to either have a job or sign up for a club. Therefore, go find something. IF YOU DON'T SIGN UP, YOU ARE NOT CONSIDERED A MEMBER. So do so.]

"Okay, but why is it called 'ducklings'? Does the word mean something else to Americans, like brownies or something?" Nadia's careful to keep her tone from getting too confused, lest it be interpretted as scathing. She honestly wonders if maybe her English isn't up to the task of figuring out soemthing that should be obvious.

Nadia nodded. It took her a second to remember what an "acronym" was. "An acronym for what?" She looked at the sign "Dogs under castle keep like investigating nosy gray socks?" She smiled back.

"...sure, it can stand for that, if you want," Rory nodded, laughing. "Um, as of right now, the acronym is, um, still being worked out? We have a beta version, but we're working out the kinks of what it should actually stand for, in seriousness. Because the one I have is kind of silly."

Nadia tilted her head. "So you just liked the idea of a club named 'ducklings' and then had to think of a way to justify it?"

Rory laughed. "Kind of. I don't want to change the name, but the current acronym is really silly and might actually get me in trouble, so I'm trying to think of justification, yeah."
