301--InterComm 3rd Period

Today you should be learning more about the construction of messages. You should be getting an introduction to the power inherant in construction. You should be engaged in discussion.

Instead, she stands at the front of the room watching the door.

Paper airplanes don't fly that far. She reads the note, and yells. "JACK! GET IN HERE!"

"NO," he screamed back. "YOU'LL SUMMON JERUSALEM TO EAT ME!"

"I CAN'T DO THAT! QUIT BEING A SLACKER AND GET. IN. HERE."

Jack slowly edges his way into the classroom. He comes to a halt just inside of the door.

"It was an accident?"

"Jack...an accident is 5 minutes. You are now..." she looks at the clock, "...nearly 40 minutes late. What...WHAT in the name of all that's holy could be considered an accident for 40 minutes?"

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you. Really you wouldn't."

She sighs heavily, flushed and annoyed. "Just tell me Jack."

"My roommate got a weird blue dog and I think it may have eaten my clock."

She blinks. Then stares. Then she pinches the bridge of her nose to stave off the threatening aneurism.

"Jack, do you want me to kill you? I mean, I could be really creative in doing it."

"I told you you wouldn't believe me. Ask Marty, it's his dog."

"It's not that I don't believe you, Jack. IN fact, a clock eating dog is almost the norm around here. But couldn't MArty get you up? Didn't the dog wake you up? Don't you have any sense of self preservation AT ALL?"

"Because I have class first period and then I sleep second period. And either everyone else in the room is either sleeping through second or showering." Self preservation? "Uh?"

[I actually went and checked all Jack'sroomies schedules to come up with a realistic excuse. So sad.]

"Fine."

She purses her lips for a minute, considering.

"I've never given anyone detention, Jack. Do you want to be the first?"

"Not really. Can I bribe you with... something?"

"Give it a try."

"Ummm... Something big I assume?"

[Oh man. I have an idea.]

"Impress me, Jack. Everything's riding on it."

"A declaration of my eternal love and devotion?"

She flods her eyes and smirks. "And how praytell am I expected to believe that when you can't even be in class when you say you will be?"

"Because... we have a pirate?" Oh no. It's things like this that make him wish he would think before speaking.

"A pirate. Have you lost your damned mind?"

"Possibly."

God he's adorable when I have him over the fire... She licks her lips and stares him down, arms folded loosely across her chest. "Tell me more about eternal love and devotion, Cap'n."

Oh no.

"Um it... is ever-bounding and never-ending?"

"Ok. Now prove it."
