As the students enter they are directed to pick up another handout.

"Good afternoon kids, I trust you will all learn these rules off by heart, and then hopefully we won't have worry about them ever again.

"Now on with the class."

"Since this is our first studio session, we're going to do a little introductory activity.

"I've paired all you students up. I want all of you to draw your partner's portrait, talk to them while you work, try to get to know them a little. Also try and draw more than the one portrait, the point of this project isn't to create masterpieces.

"Just try not to destroy the classroom first time out kids.

"Also Jake Gavin will be holding a small exhibition of his work this Sunday. Attendence is not complusory, but highly advised."

"Hey, Jack. And Jake," Parker says, stopping on her way to join Barbossa. "How're you doing?"

Jack smiles up at Parker. "I spent all day yesterday asleep. It was WONDERFUL."

Parker laughed. "I get to that on Wednesdays, if I want, but wow. I'm glad you're so much... perkier." She tipped Jake a grin. "Say. I'm about to return the favor that you and C.J. did for me before Christmas. You don't have any plans this weekend, do you?"

"Plans? None, actually. Maybe hang out in the common room and watch movies. Why?"

"Wanna go to New York again, catch Sweet Charity on Broadway, hang out with me and Jarod and Lorne and Veronica?" She leaned her chin on his shoulder. "Could be fuuuuun."

Hmmm. Get out of the town where a scary vamp chick had grrrr-ed at him, and avoid the moment when he'd have to face his really-supremely-pissed-off adoptive mother again. "Sure! When do we leave?"

"Tonight, nine-ish, leave from here, take the train, stay overnight, come back early Sunday," Parker said, clearly delighted. "we can do the touristy stuff we didn't get to last time, like the Statue of Liberty. And I promise to keep the shopping to a minimum!"

Jack smirked at her. "I'll believe that when I see it. Cool. I'll be there."

"Perfect. Later, Jack. Bye, Jake! And I'm looking forward to your art show," she told Gavin before she went over to Barbossa's table.
