And if Pip ever got the whole story, Paige would have a very pissed-off and violent Pip on her hands.

Pip grins. "No reason," he says. "And you're right about weapons. Not only that, there isn't a weapon in the world that can't be taken from you. So it's best to start there." He blew out a stream of smoke into the air. "Tell you what, Monday evening we can go into the gym and I'll show you some of the basics. Important stuff like how throw a good punch or how to take one."

And that's why Paige is never going to tell anyone what's happening, she's not so much a fan of the violence especially when Sawyer's involved, he's misguided, luckily he knows that.

"Monday sounds good, thanks Pip, I really appreciate this, I know there's a self-defense club, but well I'm thinking I could use some one on one training," she really wished she could tell him why, but so far she didn't know how much she could trust him and her instincts weren't all that good by all accounts.

Pip, being the hothead who dislikes it when his friends get hurt that he is, would probably break his arm anyway.

Pip nods. "Well, you obviously have some very serious reason why you want to learn this. And if someone wants to learn to defend themself, it's probably really important that they learn quickly. Lot of dangerous things around here, from my understanding."

It sounds like Pip and Sawyer have a lot in common, only Sawyer's not so much one for friends. A broken arm might make him think though, mind you so might Paige breaking up with him.

She nods and looks up at him looking sad again though for totally different reasons now. "Yeah it's pretty serious and the bad things aren't just around here..." she stops herself talking quickly and looks away.

She'd probably tell him about her destiny one day, he seemed to be on the good side, not that Paige was always convinced that was the side she was on.

Pip nods. "Don't I know it," he says as he reflexivly scratches around his eye. It had been itching like hell lately. He'd have to go the mainland to have it checked.

She didn't know why but she got the feeling he'd probably understand some of the stuff that worried her, the thought about having to vanquish demons when she and her sisters left here, she just wanted to be as prepared as she possibly could be, she didn't want to let her sisters down again.

She watches with a little concern as he scratches his eye, "you okay there? You know we have a clinic right?"

[identity profile] cyclopeanmerc.livejournal.com 2006-01-13 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Pip nods, not even realizing he'd be scratching it. "Yeah, I visited it already. Dr. Wilson told me I'd have to go to the mainland if I wanted my eye, or lack thereof, checked out."

She frowns, she was pretty sure she wouldn't be able to healk something that was't even there.

"That sucks, does it...generally cause you trouble?" she asks

[identity profile] cyclopeanmerc.livejournal.com 2006-01-13 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Pip shrugs. "It makes depth perception hard. It was mostly a matter of getting used to it after I lost it. I also have no peripheral vison on the left side, though a lot of the mercs joked that I had a sixth sense so it didn't matter for me anyway. It itches sometimes as well. Like... a "phantom eye" if you will."

She nods, "Yeah I guess that makes sense, I'll make sure I don't attack you from the left them or sneek up on you from that side either!" she tells him looking a lot happier than when she first joined him. At least she knew she was doing productive now.
