[OOC: More on the attendance policy. Because the classes are so close together, Thursday's class is only open for 24 hours for checking in and participation. Major discussions will be held on Friday's class. Friday's class will be open until Monday for participation. If you need longer due to RL issues, you'll have to contact me OOCly and let me know.]

This afternoon there is a big stash of jellybeans on the table. There is also a stack of hot, individually wrapped Big Kahuna burgers and cans of soda if anyone wants them. And, of course, there are the obligatory Twinkies. Ted would probably not notice if people who weren't in the class stopped by for a grab-and-run.

"Afternoon, dudes and dudettes! Today we're gonna map the multiverse so we know where everything is. The multiverse is a mysteeeeerious place. Anything you thought that wasn't real probably is real somewhere. Like, in the Ancient Rome in my universe they spoke Roman. But in someone else's Ancient Rome they might speak, like, Elvish or Muppet or Dutch. So, like, the music in one copy of a place and time doesn't mean that it's like that in every copy of that place and time.

So where does this leave us, my most excellent student-type dudes? With lots and lots of copies of every time and place that exists. Don't worry dudes, you won't need to know everywhere and everytime. In this class we're gonna look at a couple of different times and places so you can get a feel for the idea that music comes from everywhere and everyone can enjoy music and, uh, MUSIC ROCKS!"

Discussion Topic:
"So. Today we're gonna get a feel for the multiverse. Not, like, feeling it up or anything. Some of you have been students at Fandom High for a few months. Some of you are new here. Talk among yourselves about how you understand the multiverse. Like, how you picture it and deal with the weirdness."

Homework for Next Week:
"For next week's Thursday class, I want you to find out about some kind of 20th or 21st century Earth music." [OOC: Bonus points for fandomy music] "Come ready to tell me some stuff about it."

"Tell you what. Some sunny afternoon, let's take that walk, break our brains on the multi-verse and then have a drink. We'll see which way works better." Han hits her with the Number Six "charming the pants off the galaxy" grin.

Jessica may have blushed just the tiniest bit. “Oh...well, okay. That sounds like a very lovely idea.” Jessica gives him a smile, then turns away and plays with the pearls on her necklace.

Cameron rolls his eyes at the weak pick up Han just came up with and hopes to god it won't lead to any of his favourite parts of the island having to be decontaminated. "I don't know, I thought you had a point about the drinking," he tells Jessica.

Jessica turns and smiles at the kind new face. "You do? Really? Well, thank you." Jessica wasn't the type that needed people to agree with her, but it certainly set her a bit more at ease. The last thing Jessica would want to do was cause a confrontation of any sort. "Actually I do apologize, you see I didn't mean to cause such a fuss. I just wanted to let him [points at Marty] know they I cared, thats all, really."

"Yeah, I do." Cameron grins and waves a hand. "Don't worry. Marty likes making a fuss. Gets him lots of attention."

Jessica smiles, gives a little laugh, and then thinks for a moment. "You know...I don't want to appear rude and I am sorry, but I am new hear and I do not believe I've caught you name."

"Oops, sorry. Bad manners," Cameron holds out his hand. "Cameron Mitchell. Or just Cam."

"Oh, no need for apologizing dear." Jessica puts one hand on her chest-"Jessica, Jessica Tate. Or, according to our teacher, Posh Spice Dudette." Jessica laughs for a moment then continues. "Not quite sure what that means exactly, but oh well. Pleasure to meet you."

"Probably just that he thinks you're not hard on the eyes," Cameron chuckles.

Jessica tilts her head a bit, not quite sure what that means. Nonetheless, she starts to laugh, too. "Laughter is so infectious, isn't it?" Jessica laughs for another moment or two, then smiles back.

"I suppose it is," Cameron nods.

"What makes you think I want attention?"

Cameron blinks and shrugs. "You like to stir? You wouldn't do that if you want people to ignore you."

"Just trying to keep the conversation lively!" Marty says with a grin.

"Looks like it worked, man." Cameron smirks.

Jessica stands up and motions to both of them, shaking her head. "Now boys, boys, please. You see? Look what I started. There is no need for this, okay?" Jessica smiles warmly at both of them.

Cameron's confused, not really getting what this is. "No need for what?"

"She thinks we're arguing. Obviously she doesn't know about the 2nd Floor brotherhood."

"Dude, nothing can come between the 2nd floor brotherhood. It's thicker than blood, man."

"Yes, yes its just that I thought you were arguing, and I didn't want to be the cause of it. My mistake, sorry." Jessica sighs, then adds for no real reason "I live on the second floor, too."

"You do? And we haven't given you a formal welcome yet?"

Marty turns to Cam.

"Dude. We need a welcome breakfast for the second floor newbies. Get your omelette pan ready."

Cameron laughs and grins. "Sounds good to me, get to know the whole floor over an omelette. No better way to bond, man. I'm in."

"Cool. We'll do it Sunday morning and get some other breakfast foods in so you won't bear the burden alone."
