Office Hours

She's fighting her computer.

The computer isn't winning.

Feel free to interrupt her internal gloating.

Maia held onto Sara tightly trying to get as close to her as she could. Her breathes were coming in short rasps as she tried to stop crying as hard. "Safe." She whispered, "I was scared..I-I was so scared." She trembled again. "Kept me safe...you told...you kept me safe..." She managed to say inbetween her cries. She pressed closer to Sara. "I'm safe."

Maia nodded, her cries fading more as she allowed herself to relax a little in Sara's arms. "He apologized to me yesterday." Maia said quietly. "I-I told him that it didn't matter how angry he had gotten he didn't have a right to hit me." Maia frowned "Is it my fault Sara? Somehow? I keep thinking that it was somehow because I didn't push her away and because of what I said."

Maia nodded slowly taking in everything Sara was saying to her. "I think he hit me so that he wouldn't hit her." She said finally after thinking about it for a few minutes. "But that isn't right either." Maia looked up at Sara for a moment and then laid her head back down "What's going to happen now? To Sawyer?"

Maia nodded against Sara. Closing her eyes she just breathed for a few minutes. "What will happen if he does do something else to me?" Fear creeped into Maia's voice.

Maia nodded again and shivered. It was starting to sink in just how afraid she had actually been since New Years. Her heart was pounding it seemed almost out of her chest.
