Biology (2nd Period) / Chemistry (4th Period)
"Good morning, everyone. Please take your seats."
"Please study the worksheets I am handing out now. There will possibly be a quiz next week before our first lab. The possibility is almost as certain as George W. Bush's ability to abuse the English language."
"Biology is not one science -- it is dozens of different sciences, each with its own set of tools and techniques, theories and questions, puzzles and paradigms. Here are some examples of biological sciences:
* Biochemistry: biological molecules and their interactions; metabolism
* Microbiology: bacteria, viruses, and other microscopic organisms, and their interactions with other organisms
* Botany: plant structure and functions
* Cytology: cell structures and their functions
* Physiology: functions of tissues, organs and organ systems, such as the muscular system, the nervous system, etc.
* Genetics: the mechanisms of heredity, including its molecular machinery (DNA) and its observable consequences (e.g., genetic diseases).
* Evolution: the mechanisms by which populations change over time
* Ecology: the interactions of organisms with each other and their environments.
Homework: Look up one theory of evolution and write a brief summary.

"In order to work within any system of science, one must understand the basic units of measurement."
length - metre (meter): m
mass - kilogram: kg
time - second: s
electric current - ampere: A
thermodynamic temperature - kelvin: K
amount of substance - mole: mol
luminous intensity - candela: cd
Homework: Choose a unit of measurement and write a short story using that unit of measurement. Be creative.

Isn't that just the best news ever?
Re: Biology
Kicking Dr Obnoxious out of the log inConnor wanders in a few paces behind his brother. For, you guessed it, ALL THREE CLASSES with Ms Sidle. He's not stalking her. No, really. He's not.

Re: Chemistry
He starts over, after flashing a quick look at his brother and writes about how Ma taught them to shoot cans and bottles off a fence post, and how they gradually incresed the space between shooter and target.
He's not entirely sure that's the most appropriate topic either, given the school's anti violence policy but there is a shooting range available to students and target shooting is more about aim and accuracy than about violence, so he turns it in anyway.
