Shop Class: [1/11]

Upon entering the classroom the students will find that it has been transformed into a laboratory, filled with various types of chemicals and electronic equipment.

What's strange is that there appears to be a locked door for each student.

"Today's assignment is situational. You have been locked inside this lab by an electronic lock on the door. The door lock itself cannot be picked by any means and you cannot removed the door by its hinges or any other physical means. There is a keypad by the door that controls the lock."

"Today your goal is to find a way to open the door using only what's in the lab and the standard shop student tool kit: A virtual swiss army knife and a roll of duct tape."

[OOC: Feel free to mod whatever you might find in the lab as long as it is not a code to the door or a set of keys. Hints for some possible solutions will be provided in one of the OCD tags below for those students who don't have a background in lockpicking or electronics.]

Xander nodded in return. "There's that weird time-thing I mentioned, so there's a younger Buffy here and an older one back home - which I guess means I sort of know three vampire slayers, come to think of it. But it's not like you're gonna hear me complaining about an overabundance of Buffy."

Nadia shook her head. "That's got to be confusing." She smiled. "But hey, at least you have a friend here. Sort of. She does know you, right?"

Xander nodded. "She lives across the hall from me on the 4th floor."

"Wow. I wish I had someone close like that, here. It seems right now like I'm never spending time with the same people. Well, not more than two minutes, or something."

"We don't actually see a whole lot of each other," Xander said. "Schedules don't match up so much. But it's nice to know she's nearby. Plus hey, 4th floor? Land of Smokin' Womenfolk, and Buffy does not lose us points there."

Nadia raised an eyebrow. "She's not, um, 'smokin'?"

"Sometimes Xander is for to be talking in the doubleness of negatives, possibly because English isn't confusing enough," Xander answered. "Buffy definitely sets off fire alarms."

Nadia laughs. "Well, English is a difficult language to speak. Seems like most of the people here could set off the fire alarms, though."

"Fandom High does not lack for the pretty," Xander agreed. "I'd think it was an admission requirement if they hadn't let me in."

Nadia choked slightly. "You're kidding, right?" She looked Xander over, then blushed. "You're not lacking in the pretty department."

Xander, on the other hand, totally didn't blush much. Because guys didn't do that much. "Careful, you'll give me a big--" He stopped. "You know, this would be one of those moments when English sits on the sidelines with popcorn and just waits for me to say the wrong words. Let us go with 'thank you' which rarely if ever makes me wish I'd swallowed my tongue befoe I opened my mouth."

Nadia's not sure what Xander would have said that would make him wish he'd swallowed his tongue, but nodded anyway. "You're welcome."

{ooc - fadetoblack? I'm easily capable of tormenting a thread until it dies of old age, but this seems like a good place to let yesterday become yesterday. *grin*
