Professor Chaucer is kicked back in his chair with his feet up on his desk in the spiffy new office he now has. He's reading, but feel free to bring him coffee interrupt him.

Kiki taps on the door politely as she enters.

"Hello, Professor," she says, "I just wanted to stop by to thank you again about the TA position. I'd like to ask, too, what specifically you'd like me to handle or what my job will involve. Other than be your coffee wench."

"Hello, Kiki! Come on in!" Geoff grins and sets down the book he's reading.

"And you're very welcome -- I'm just pleased that I'll be having such a capable student assisting me. Now let's see, I suppose the main thing would be to be my coffee wench help me with collecting the assignments and assisting the other students with finding the books they need. Also, how do you feel about keeping track of attendance for me? And of course, if there's a day I can't be in class myself, you'd be the one to take over for me."

"No problem," smiles Kiki, "That all sounds straightforward enough. Do you have a list yet of materials we'll need yet? I can talk to Mr. Aziraphale in town about ordering anything we don't have."

Although, of course, that would require the angel to actually have to sell something...

Spying the coffee mug on Chaucer's desk, Kiki comments, "I've noticed a lot of the other teachers have drinks or such for their students - to bribe them to show up, perhaps, or give them something other than the usual cafeteria fare -" Kiki grins, "Do you think we should have something similar? I can take care of setting it up each class."

Because getting coffee in every single class period of the day is the best thing for a high school student.

"I think I have most of the books I need for my reading list already stocked in the book closet. But if I need anything for extra credit work, it would be great if you could arrange that for me. Although it might be a good idea to go ahead and get a few copies of the approved texts for the end of term projects which I think I've posted but if not I'll link you."

Geoff considers the suggestion for snacks in the classroom. "I think it might be a nice idea to have some refreshment for everyone, especially as I have the late period classes. So if you'd really be willing to make those arrangements, I think it sounds wonderful."

"Done," Kiki answers with a nod. "Are the approved texts for the end-of-term projects different than the list of set readings for class?"


Just to put it somewhere, at the beginning of each class, Kiki will have arrived early to put out two carafes of coffee - regular and decaf, and a plate of croissants.

Geoff rolls his eyes and the mun *facepalms*. "All right, you know what? I was confusing my materials for the Poetry class with the materials for my Western Lit class. I don't have a TA yet for Western Lit, and if I don't have anyone apply, would you be interested?"

"I would," Kiki said, "Except for the fact that it conflicts on Monday 5th period with Magical Theory, unfortunately."


Was SOOOOOOOO irritated about that! The chances out of allllll those classes that they'd overlap? Dur! Although it did seem that just about everyone offered their classes between 4 - 6 periods!

Geoff nods. "I had noticed that you weren't registered. Maybe next term, then."


[Although Geoff doesn't know it yet, he's offering an independent study for that class to Phoebe. Interested? :)]

"I hope so!" Kiki answers eagerly. "It sounds like it would be really fun to take - will you offer it every semester?"

"If there's interest I will. Next term I may narrow the focus and concetrate on a specific period, though."

[ooc: I'll have Geoff give Kiki a ring once he's worked out the details with Phoebe for her independent study, and make the offer. You'll have to get it cleared with the admins, though, I'm pretty sure.]

"And if I take it Independent Study now, that wouldn't bar me from being able to take it with the class if you change the course next semester, right?"

"Take it independent study...that I could possibly work out. Let me think on it, Kiki, and I'll get back to you? But yes, if you did that, you'd be welcome to register next term if you're still interested."

[Thanks! If I don't get any takers, I'll have Geoff grab Harry and ask him why he didn't apply. Well, not actually grab Harry. The administration frowns on that sort of thing. *g*]
