"Have a seat, Paige," says Jenny, gesturing to a chair. "I'm not going to forbid you to sign up for Magical Theory, but I am a little concerned about your ability to keep up with the work. The format of the class will be changing around a bit--more discussion-based, but with monthly quizzes on the topics we've covered instead of daily homework."

She opens her grading program and looks it over. "You did great at the start of the term, but it looks like your participation started dropping after a while. I accepted your final project a day late because I didn't want to fail you or Jack. Basically? I need you to convince me you can keep up with the class."

Paige nods, "Yeah that's cool, I just kinda...had a lot going last semester and with the change of class times and things I just kinda forgot some of the work I guess, sorry about that, but I can promise I'll do all the work for this, I really think it's something I need to take, for well for what I am. There were a few classes on magic last year but they didn't really work out."

She pauses, "I did okay with my other classes, I think maybe the change in Psych with scary squid lady Professor Drusilla leaving just disrupted me more than it should have."

"From what I understand, it was everyone's first term here. New school, go fig, right?" She nods, and checks her grading program again. "I know you did extra credit, which helped your grade and does say good things about your academic performance." She glances up at Paige. "Are you a witch, then? I'm noticing we have a few around here."

"I think if you apply yourself, you should be handle the work. Though, gotta warn you, I'll be grading a bit more strictly than I did last term, 'kay?" Jenny smiles reassuringly. "Good luck with class sign-ups, Paige."

It hadn't even occured to Paige that Jenny might not know she was a witch, everyone else in the school did, she'd never seen much point in finding it.

She nods, "erm yeah I came into my powers a few months ago," she doesn't go into more details, she only really spoke about the car crash to Sawyer now.

"I think I'm settled in now, so hopefully I'll do okay, I'll try my best," she assures her, "Thanks Miss Calendar."
