Shop Class Final Exam: 12/20

Upon entering the Danger Shop, Mac hands each student a warm down coat for them to wear.

"Welcome to the final shop class of the semester. This is your exam. Today you will be locked in a walk-in freezer. The lock itself is broken and cannot be picked by any means. It is your job to figure out how to get out of the freezer using whatever is available in the freezer (plus your standard SAK and Duct Tape) to get out."

"Death? You cannot dematerialize and walk through the door. You must find a way to open it on your own."


Final exam:
The door is locked from the outside. There is a latch on the inside but because the lock is broken cannot be picked. The hinges to the door are on the outside of the Freezer as well. The freezer itself has one light bulb, several shelving units made of metal and various items of food. Good luck!

"It should also have a little holder, so you can clip it to your belt, should you be so inclined." Sam said, grinning at Mac's excitement. "I don't go anywhere without mine. At least not anymore. You forget it one time, and jeez, you never hear the end of it."

Mac plays with his new gadget, almost entranced. "This is amazing." Now if they could find a way to make duct tape more easier to carry.

"I'm glad you like it." "Don't get me started on duct tape's lack of portability. You could tie it to the belt loops on your jeans, but then it smacks you in the butt when you walk."

Anders spots Sam and heads over to her with a small package wrapped in red paper with a gold bow (http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/electronic/58cb/), and a slightly larger one (http://www.thinkgeek.com/electronics/cameras/798d/) in gold paper with a red bow.

"Hey Carter, I didn't get a chance to catch you yesterday, but these are for you. Merry Christimas." He grins at her.

"Wow, thanks, Anders! These are amazing." She had a serious debate with herself, then decided to play with the torch first. "I have gifts for you, but they're back in my room. I'll drop by later or you can find me."

"I forget, are you going to be staying here over the break, or are you going home?"

He shrugs. "I'll be here. Dad figured it wasn't worth the trouble for such a short visit. Not too sorry about it, though." Grinning at the torch, he adds, "Glad you like 'em. I wasn't too sure at first. Hopefully, if I remember, I'll track you down later."

"No, they're seriously great, Anders. Thanks again." She clicked the torch off. "Yeah, I can see that. I'll be around, as long as they don't close the dorms. In which case I guess I'll be living down on the corner for a few weeks and will probably appreciate a cup of coffee."

Anders grins. "Well, Zero gave me coffee, and I've got a coffee maker, so if they kick us out of the dorms we should be okay as long as we remember to pack those before we leave."
