For some reason, Dream has a balloon today. Don't ask questions.

"Hello. As I promised, you have a quiz today on your last units. After you have passed it in, you may work on your final projects in the computer lab, or stay here and watch a DVD. I have Sailor Moon episodes for Languages of Asia, and Clash of the Titans for Classics. The academic value of these things is limited, but I hope you will at least be entertained."

Rory signed in and took the quiz. The studying she had done over the past few days paid off.

She then curled up, being the only student in the class, and watched anime. And didn't mentally mock it. At all.

Out of sheer boredom, and the desire to give Dream a holiday gift ~~which the mun forgot to e-mail himself the link to so he could post it while at work, therefore the gift waits until the end of class~~, Lockheed flew into class carrying a package and a plate of cookies. He waved to Rory as he spoke to Dream.

/Good day, my lord. I bring cookies./

Dream takes a cookie out of politeness and sets it at the side of his desk. /Thank you, Lockheed. How have you been?/

/I have been well, sir,/ Lockheed responded. /The Tick has treated me well. I haven't had to do much to protect him. It keeps life simple./

Lockheed looked at Rory watching Sailor Moon by herself. /If you don't mind my asking, sir, where is your class?/

Dream sighs, crossing his arms and leaning back on his desk before answering in DSragon heavily mixed with English words. /It had been small for some time,/ he answers. /Mr. Samuelle was asked to leave the school. Miss Kim and Mr. Huntzberger are absent by choice, apparently./

/At least Miss Gilmore is a good student. She is Professor Tick's sidekick, yes?/

/That is the word he uses. I believe he would have had a lot of trouble adjusting to his role as a teacher without her as his assistant,/ Lockheed said.

/Would it be all right with you if I spent the rest of the period watching the program with Rory, sir? I suspect she might appreciate some company./

/That's fine,/ Dream says, taking a small bite of cookie. /Thank yoou for asking./

After receiving permission (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhigh/468665.html?thread=21621433#t21621433) to do so, Lockheed flew over to Rory with some cookies (including a few for her), took an empty seat, and watched Sailor Moon.

"Ooh, cookies!" Rory said gleefully. She might seem a bit stupidly happy. It's just holiday spirit. "How come you're here? Not that I mind the company."

Lockheed shrugged. /Why not? Bored,/ he grunted quietly since there was actually someone in the room who could understand him. He then offered Rory a cookie.

Rory wondered what Lockheed had said, and shrugged it off, taking the cookie.

She glanced back at the screen. "If I had that much hair, I wouldn't wear it like that," she noted.

Lockheed snickered. And then he ate a cookie. And then he scoffed as the same two-minute long cutscene that they always showed leading up to somebody waving a stick at a villain began. If they were fighting him, he would have flamed them all by now.

He turned to Rory and shook his head sadly at the cut corners in the animation budget they had to deal with.

"It's sad, isn't it? And what's bizarre is that people prefer it so badly done," Rory said, shaking her head and eating a cookie.

/Humans are weird./ Lockheed ate another cookie. /Except you. You're okay. For the most part. You like that dog for one.../ Lockheed continued. He wouldn't have mentioned Vladdie, but, hey, why not?

He went back to watching the cartoon and nearly cried at the vaccuum cleaner villain.

"And those outfits? So, so impractical. My sidekick costume which, granted, I have yet to wear, is way less stupid-looking," Rory noted.

"No skrt!" Lockheed grunted in a rough kind of English. He continued in Dragon, /Seriously, how do you fight crime in a schoolgirl uniform? Also, doesn't that give away their secret identities? They're not wearing masks or different clothes or anything!/

Then he ate another cookie.

Before he left the classroom, Lockheed stopped by Dream's desk again. /I nearly forgot, sir, but Professor Tick and I bought you a present for the holidays. He was unsure what to buy you and I had trouble directing his attention, so I hope this gift pleases you./ Lockheed then placed a box (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0007OC3U4/qid=1135053744/sr=8-10/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i10_xgl21/103-2135095-2462201?v=glance&s=toys&n=507846) on Dream's desk.

Dream ties the baloon to his char for a moment and unwraps the box, his not-eyes lighting up.

/An excellent present. Thank you, Lockheed, and give Professor Tick my thanks as well./

Lockheed bowed respectfully before flying off toward the door.
